My Experience thus far...

So, we've made it through our first work day in PA. I have already started to notice the kinks of the house.
#1 No heat. Surprisingly it is cold out here still...especially at night. Which, is bad for a sick baby, but hopefully that gets fixed soon.

#2 Freaky washer. I am pretty sure our washer is possessed. I put a load into the washer before we left yesterday to run some errands and shut the door and let the magic happen. Well, when i came home, I couldn't get the utility room door opened because the washer was in front of it!! It freaks out every time we do a load now....either big or small, when it gets to that spin cycle, it goes nuts.

#3 No tv or internet. I never thought i was obsessed with the two but apparently i am. With no TV, especially with brett gone all day, can get pretty boring around here. Also, some fun news, qwest isn't stationed anywhere in PA so we are still paying on our two year contract but not receiving any benefits of such. Go figure the 'west' in qwest means "we only work out in the west" duh Lydia. So we are currently hacking into a near by local connection that works sometimes and not others....fun fun fun.

#4 Adalie. She seems to have caught a whole new cold out here and is sick all over again. Plus, with her schedule lost on the drive over, its been tough to try and get a sick baby back on some kind of routine.

#5 Location. I am used to every thing being so close in provo that a thirty minute drive into town seems like an all day trip to me. I love where we are living though. Nice two bedroom condos on a private golf coarse, but no more quick trips downtown for something last minute. And gas is a whopping $3.65 Whoa!!

#6 White carpet. Ugh, white carpet. Baby. I think that says it all.

Despite a few other little things...no family...husbands 12 hour work days..., we are determined to keep our heads held high and our faith strong. Everything will work out for the better.

I finally found a wal-mart...I think all of my problems are solved for now.

Lets see if we can make this work....

We're here! Well it looks like we will be calling Canonsburg, Pa our home for the next four months of summer. Getting here was definably a hoot! Our car was packed to the max with so much stuff and somehow we found a way to stuff Adalie back there too in her car seat. Poor thing....there was so much stuff piled all around her. I felt bad that she couldn't even look out the windows and try to enjoy the view from the 28 hour drive. We left provo around 7 am and stopped in Lincoln Illinois about 12 hours later to rest up for the night. I don't think Adalie could have taken another minute of her car seat. We left again around 7 the next morning and finally made it into our apt in Pittburg around 12 am. phew! it was so long, but considering, it was a good trip. Adalie was such a little trooper. She did have a diaper blow-out (which by the way has never happened before) all over her car seat midway through ohio which we didn't notice until late ohio...she fell asleep in it so we never even knew! We thought the smell was all the manure in the farm fields we were passing!! I'll have to get some pictures...we live on a golf course! haha
Anywho, we're finally here and it feels great. It is such a beautiful place..i never knew how green it was and it has gorgeous rolling hills! Our apt is so nice but i did almost cry when i found out there was no pool.... We have gone to the store and bought a few things to make it our own and are settling right in. It is going to be a long summer but I am actually really excited. I even feel like I get to see Brett more often now then I did when we were in provo. There he had 12 hour days atleast....so eight is actually not too much to ask for from us. This should be lots of fun!

Now its time to say goodbye...

We did it! We got the house packed and clean. Finals are done. Baby is better (finally she has been sick for a month! ugh). Jeep is all packed up. Trash is in the dump. And we have never been more ready to get out of provo! It has been a stressful 24 hours trying to move but i am so releaved it is all done and we are finally getting out of here. Next to giving birth, this has got to be one of the scariest/excited feelings heading out to Pittsburgh. who knows what will happen right? I mean, I have faith that we're going to do well and have lots of fun, but not really knowing does make me a little nervous. Anywho, our next post just might be a Pittsburgh post! We're going to be Yankees!!!

Spoiled Rotten

Nope...not even talking about my child I am talking about me! haha So as some of you know, our desktop got a pretty bad virus in it or something and has gone kir-plunk! We have been using this very very old gateway notebook that hinges are broken so it is a pretty funny site to see us use. We have to have it propped up against the living room wall and lay on our stomachs to use it, and the only thing we can do on it is a little bit of internet stuff. No cd drive. No pictures. No videos. No downloads of ANY kind. No nothin. Brett is waiting for the start up cds from his brother to get our desk top working again, but even then we are moving and can only take things that will fit in the back of the jeep....clothes and other necessities so i thought it would be easier to just get a new lap top woo hoo right? well i have been bugging brett to death this last month to get one and he finally gave in. Yesterday we got ourselves a new hp lap top, really nice with all the latest hardware and geeky stuff added into it. haha Now don't be fooled.....don't think we had money for this but thank heavens for the wonderful surprise of tax returns lol. be prepared for pictures....

Poor baby

Usually Adalie is such a great sleeper but has gotten into a bad rutt the past two months of not wanting to go to sleep in her own bed. I made the mistake of giving in and soon days became weeks, weeks became months and i don't want it to go on. Frankly, she is bed hog and i never get myself into a deep enough sleep because i am scared one of us will end up on top of her! lol Well, the past two nights i have been trying to just let herself cry herself to sleep and it has made me feel like such a bad mom. I just have these horrible feelings like i am abandoning her, and she will hate me forever. haha I rock her and then gently lay her in her own bed and she wails! It makes me so sad, but I honestly don't know what else to do....it seems to work it is just up to me to get through the half hour of tears, from both our sides, and hope for the best in the long run. Now, she is waking up at three in the morning screaming and i still haven't gotten myself ready to just let her cry her way through that...baby steps for mommy...baby steps...

p.s. i miss putting pics up, i feel like my site has become a little "blah" hopefully i can get it working again soon

Hi guys! So, i feel so so so much better and things are going great. Thanks for all the nice comments! My sister rebecca is in town this weekend and we hung out yesterday and everyone is coming to my house today to play. we are heading down to the park for a picnic and then we're taking the kids swim suit shopping, which should be fun. oh and then the zoo on saturday! woo hoo!!
Our little family is great, considering. Adalie still has a bad cough and running nose but we took her to the dr and he gave her some stronger meds. she also has an ear infection now which stinks. we haven't gotten much sleep around here lately. Brett's finals start today, so i won't see him much for the next couple of days but boy is he excited the end is near!! we are all ready to go, just needing to tidy up a bit. U haul is rented, all of our bills are payed, and our house is full of boxes! i am even living off a pair of blue jeans, one dress and a couple of t shirts for the next couple of days because i already packed my clothes. haha i think i am getting really anxious to head out on our new summer adventure!

First Timer

I have had my first experience with food poisoning and i never want it again! Brett had it once last year and now i can say i sympathies with him....horrible. I think it was a lean cuisine chk fet with broccoli meal that did me in...and fet alf is one of my favorite things ever!!! so sad...
anyway, i just wanted to write something in since i haven't been on in a while but thats it for today. sorry not so interesting. i still feel a little sick to my stomach.

New beginnigs..

So today we got so much done and i feel so caught up and great about everything!! First, we dropped off our last rent payment for the house we are living in now...yay!! Then a little ways down the road, dropped of our deposit and first months rent for our new BEAUTIFUL place i am SO SO excited about! Next, a check to the storage place where we can start packing up boxes and whatnot anytime. Finally, a trip to wal-mart for milk, bread, eggs, and Adlaie's first big girl seat. She is about 3 lbs away from 20 and i asked the doctor about her moving into one of the booster seats instead of a carrier. I got one that still is rear facing but you can switch it around once they reach 20 and even turns into a child booster seat for up to 100 lbs....hopefully, lasting us for a while. my reasons behind getting the seat now were space for phily. we would just have to get another in 3 months and then find some way to get the carrier back and also have a toddler seat in the car plus clothes and millions of other things i am sure we will pick up while we are out east....hopefully this turns out to be a good idea. it is a pretty sweet chair though i wish i could travel in something that stylish and comfortable myself!!

sick baby

Poor adalie marie is sick yet again! i feel so bad for her when she is sick and i can't do anything but hold her and cry with her....but today we finally bucked up and went to the doctor. he gave her some medicine which will hopefully help out but if not she has another apt next week for her shots anways so he will check up on her again then.....she is so miserable.
Brett is doing great, he never gets sick and can go days without sleep. i think i am getting what the baby has which stinks....everything goes around like a ,merry go round in this house. but, all will pass i am sure.

Uplifted

I don't know if i will ever get used to the miracles of conference. It always seems to be just at the right time (when i am losing my edge) with just the right words.....it definably has to be an inspired event. Brett and i got to go to the conference center for the saturday afternoon session which was lots of fun. Brett kept looking in the back seat and kept whispering. I asked why he was doing that and he said he just wasn't used to riding in the car alone with me anymore...there is always a little girl hanging out back there.\, so he was still acting as such. haha My wonderful sister in law monica watched her for us while we were out and it was fun to get to have a half a day to ourselves...i am not used to it much, we have jst been so busy around here trying to finish up school and getting ready to get out!
Al in all it was a great weekend. Free place to stay. Free food. And uplifting words....I am all pumped up for the next six months!!

We spent the conference weekend at her aunt monicas and it was great!

when it rains..it pours!

I always thought it was funny how so many things can go wrong at once! It snowed in spring! We had a buyer on our car....it fell through. Our computer got a virus. Flat tire. Lost credit card. Baby won't sleep through the night. Finding a new apt. Having to come up with an extra 1500$ for various moving expenses. Dying my hair blonde and getting bangs (i'll post a picture but thats another thing not working now...the camera plug). And lots of other little annoying things.....thats just it, all annoying things. I have to learn to laugh at these things but it can be hard!
Anyway, good news though...no more going to work after friday and I just found out I might be excepted into an x ray tech program here at a local community school which should be fun! i have a tour and an interview tomorrow, so we'll see more about that but i am way excited to finally get things done!
Brett is excited for school to end. Adalie is teething like crazy and drooling on everything. She almost has 8 teeth! she is only 8 mths! it seems crazy to me! and...sh bites!! Ahh!! We're all getting excited about the move....25 days to go!!
