Backtracking 2

So whats next? Well after Easter, not too much happened except a long week of finals and a deep house cleaning to get ready for all of the family coming into town. I know I have already mentioned graduation a bit but it was such a fun and important even I have to write about the details! Brett's commencement ceremony was Thursday the 22nd and was actually really nice. It was funny though, they had to ask some of the audience members to move from the bleacher seats to fit all the graduates in the Marriot center. I have never seen the place so full!! Poor little Adalie was getting frustrated with us because we kept telling her daddy was down there with all the students but she couldn't see him. She just started yelling out "Daddy! Where are you?!?!" and waving like crazy. He did though, by some miracle, come right by our row when the graduate were exciting the building and Adalie was sitting on the end so he grabbed her and she got to walk with him on the way out with all the rest of the graduates. She was pretty excited about that. There were 6,712 graduates from BYU this year....pretty amazing huh?

And Brett was one of them! Woo Hoo!! Friday was actual graduation day and Brett's was one of the longest ceremony's because they put his major of Neuroscience with The School of Family and Social Sciences. Brett's mom and ad got to come in early for the graduation and even watched the kids so I could sneak down and get some good pictures of Brett on Graduation day. Some of Brett's brothers and his sister also made it down that night for a wonderful dinner at outback! Yum Yum!

It was great to laugh and hang out with everyone and celebrate our own little graduate. There are so many people proud of you honey and I am one of your biggest fans! It is so fun to be done with school for now and we are already starting to enjoy the summer.....if the rain and wind would go away that is. Why is it still so wet and cold here some days!?!? Yuck!

BackTracking 1

So, I finally got my camera back and I have lots and lots of backtracking and catching up to do with my pictures. Pictures make things more fun I think haha

First, we will start off with Easter. It was a fun one this year with Adalie and a special one too since it was Cason's first. We stayed at Bett's sister's house the day before and just did the Easter Bunny thing there. We thought it would be easier and better for Adalie to sleep with her cousin Macady in her room up stairs so the Easter Bunny could make his sneaky visit and she would wake up to her surprise but guess who came crawling into our room at 6 AM and almost ruining the surprise? I guess Adalie had a bad dream and would not go back to sleep at all, so I eventually took her upstairs while Brett worried about getting Cason back to sleep downstairs. I thought she would eventually fall asleep on the couch with me but it never happened. So, we had to be sneaky when she asked every few minutes where her Easter basket was and if the Easter Bunny came. We kept telly her he "hid" it and we would have to go and find where he left it. While Brett took her to the back of the house to look, I quickly ran downstairs and got her basket and hid it under the table in the kitchen. It was so funny to see her looking all over the house for her basket.

(She found it and the look on her face was hilarious)

Poor girl hit her head on her way under the table to try and get her basket out.
I think we have unknowingly started our own little Sorensen Easter tradition of hiding the kids eggs AND their Easter Baskets from them on Easter Mornings. Adalie was so excited when she finally found her basket but a little confused as to why it was hidden under the table....Cason really didn't know what the big deal was and what was going on as expected LoL.

The Last of Another Adventure

Today is the Last day of finals and I am pretty sure Brett is beyond excited. No more test, or homework, or readings, or projects for at least 3 or 4 mths until POD school. It will be nice for him to go to sleep at night not stressing over school work for a bit. Tomorrow is graduation part 1 (commencement) and Friday he actually gets to walk and get his diploma. I am SO proud of him! He has always been so smart and so motivated and now he has something to show for it! =) He has been a trooper these last four yrs with BYU and I know he is so ready for something new and exciting. Me? I cannot believe it has been four yrs. Time has really gone by so fast although I am sure in the moment, I did not think so at all. I really have loved BYU. What a huge blessing to be able to have a wonderful school like this. Go Cougars!! Now we have to get ready for the next chapter, but not forget to enjoy the moments in between.

On another note, family is going to be in town this week and I am so so thrilled beyond belief! Cason will be blessed on Sunday. This is the first time my mom and dad and Brett's dad and brother get to meet Baby Cason. So, if you don't hear from me for a while yet again (I've been busy getting ready for family at the house and enjoying the sunshine), you know where I am. I have lots to post though and one day I hope to catch up with life.

Get Up and Go!!

So what did I FINALLY do?? I actually went to the gym yesterday! That's right...after 7 wks of lazy I decided to do something about how chubby and out of shape I am. Now just to keep it going right?

And by the way, I just want to say thank you thank you thank you everyone for your kind words, your advice, and your thoughts =) It has made me feel so much better to have little words of encouragement about how things have been going. I really do feel a lot better about the situation. I don't want to jinx anything, but he has actually been sleeping almost 3 hrs at a time now and he smiles all the time. I know that sounds ridiculous to be grateful for, but I will take whatever I can get!! I am loving it right now! I am so glad for my wonderful husband too! He has been the biggest help of all....I love you lots honey.

Letting it Out

I feel like life has been a blur these past few months. I have been so delirious and sleep deprived from the acid reflux and colic that I haven't had much time to enjoy a lot of things about my newborn. I love that he is here, I love that we have a little boy. I love that he has come to join our little family. I know he is a sweet little spirit I have been in trusted with, but it has been hard for me this time around. I am finally having to admit to myself I can't do it with a smile all the time. I really really don't mean to have a pitty party or say woe is me, but i just feel like i need to let it out or I will explode one of these days. I know so many people have much bigger problems than I and I feel so ridiculous that I am complaining about it! My poor husband who has been bearing the brunt of it all... I am having a hard time adjusting to just how different it all has been. Is this a normal feeling among most? I hate it when my babies cry and there is nothing I can do to console them...it makes me feel like a bad mom that I can't do anything more than what I have already done. Of course I am writing at a particularly bad moment...

I am glad I have a pretty easy toddler though...that helps a lot with the stress I am feeling now. Someone please tell me it gets better. Haha. Does everyone have those days where they feel like a bad mom? Like you just don't know how to do it right? I don't know if this is what postpartum feels like and I should get on some meds fast or if it is just the lack of sleep that makes it seem harder and depressing sometimes. And it has only been in the last two weeks I have felt like this....so it hasn't even been around the whole time really. Anywho, don't judge or think I am ungrateful (....believe it or not lol), I am. I have so so much to be grateful for....it is just hard to remember that in the stressful moments of life. Sorry y'all.... I just needed to let it out. Someone slap me already and tell me to get happy!!

Double Doses

....both Colic and Acid Reflux. Poor baby!! I hate that I waited so long to get him to the Doctor again just to find out he really has been hurting quite a bit. Brett and I have been running off of no sleep for the past 3 wks and have pretty much been dead to the world. We got a prescription for Cason yesterday (baby prevacid) and the Dr said that should really help, so we are excited to see how the next few days, especially nights, go around here. Good news is Dr says the colic usually is gone by their 4 mth check up....which means 2 more months to go there. The reflux though will be around for a year, sometimes off and on so he will have to keep taking the medicine for a while. Whatever helps though. We will keep you posted. Gotta go! Crying baby!!

Adalie is still winning in the "easiest child so far" contest we are having here at the house. =)

Easter Pictures

We went to JC Pennys yesterday to get a few cute pictures of the little baboos in their Easter outfits. I really don't like taking newborn pictures for 3 main reasons... 1. They really aren't that cute yet and they still need to get out of the newborn old man look wrinkly stage (only a face a mother can love right? LoL) so it's something I don't want to catch professionally on camera and 2. I have a very fussy baby boy. 3. It is really hard to even catch them with their eyes open and with a smile on their face! Anywho! Enjoy! These are a few I like. We will be back in May to take family pictures so I hope to get a few good ones then too...
