Budapest
Everyone try to convince Brett that we should go to Hungary this summer ok?? If we don't do it now, I don't think we will be able to do it for like 15 more years AT LEAST. In the mean time, there will be more babies, residency, moves, etc. So, everyone tell Brett it is a good idea. We have not been on a real vaca since our honeymoon. Besides a night or two for our anniversary, going to see the in laws, or local date nights, I know it would be really, reeeaaalllllly fun!! My argument: Whats another 3,500ish when you're going to be 200,000ish in MED school debt anyways? Not the smart way to think, but I really want to go. LoL Come on guys help me out. Chris?? Carrie?? Want to go with us?!?!?

Yesterday while running some errands i stopped to get adalie some french fries. while driving on the highway she dropped her fries on the car floor from her car seat. I didn't even say anything and she says,
Adalie: "I dropped my fries!"
Me: "Sorry honey I am driving I can't do anything about it now"
Adalie: "You know, that was your fault"
Me: "What?! how was that my fault I am driving. You're the one who dropped them so I think it is your fault"
Adalie: "No it is your fault. You were going over the hill and made me drop my fries."
Me: "Honey, I am just driving like I always do. I am pretty sure it was your fault this time"
Adalie: "Well...No thanks to your driving."
Really!?!? Where does she get this stuff from??

The Weekend
The weekend was absolutely wonderful? What did we do? Absolutely nothing! LoL It was soooo nice though to veg and relax. Brett was recovering from a huge anatomy test he had taken on Friday, so doing something that didn't require much thinking was right up his alley. Saturday was a pretty yucky and rainy day anyways, so staying home wasn't a bit dissatisfying. We watched movies all day and even took in some Domino's pizza. I don't even think any of us changed out of our Pj's. Sunday was a great day at Church. We had a huge roast cooking in the crock pot all day. I always love coming home to a house that smells like something good to eat. We had the missionaries over for dinner. Brett did the dishes.
It was a really great, really lazy, carefree weekend. One of my favorite things to do is just hang out with my husband. He is my absolute best friend....who I can make out with anytime I want. haha

The Zoo
Despite the sickly in our house, we have been doing some fun things...I just keep forgetting to pull out the camera and show you.

A few weekends ago we got to go to the Zoo. We bought a Zoo and Science Museum year pass and they are both about 15 mins away so it is a great way for the kids and I to pass the time if we ever get too bored with Brett at school all day. But, the first time visit are reserved with Dad's company included =)

It is a pretty small Zoo. There are no Bears or Elephants....and a few other animals missing so that was kind of sad. It does however have a petting zoo, a train, and a park inside to play on. A perfect little toddler Zoo. It was a great Saturday and I am so glad Brett decided to spend it with us instead of his books for most of the day =) The Zoo is kind of a tradition in our house. We have been to 5 zoos in 5 states. We LOVE the zoo!

All in all the best part is we got to be together and enjoy family time on a beautiful Saturday here in Des Moines!! There are tons of pictures! Enjoy!

Poor Cason
Cason had his six mth check up on Monday (even though eh is actually 7 mths). Our big boy is 17.8 lbs and 28 in. Poor little man was supposed to get his shots but couldn't because he has a double ear infection. Dr says it looks like it might have been there for about a week. I thought it was just his major teething that has been giving him a yucky nose as of late, but it turns out the green nasty snot that we have had lately is due to the ear infections. I feel horrible because I have been annoyed with his extra whines and cries, but now I see the reason why. Poor, poor baby Cason.

Already Monday
It seems like the weekend went by WAAAAAYYYYY to fast. Brett assures me it is going to be a very long week and I won't get to see him again until Saturday. He has two big test this week. Bio-chem tomorrow and anatomy on Friday. Good Luck Honey!!
Cason is seven months old today! Did I mention he is mobile? He has been crawling all over for almost 3 weeks...mostly army crawling but every now and then he actually uses his knees. I think he is discovering he can get to things a lot faster if he uses those. He gets into absolutely everything. He is a daddy's boy during the day, but a momma's boy at night when its time for a snuggle and bed. He wakes up at 6:50 on the dot every morning. On the dot.
We got netflix. Absolutely love it. Brett and I have been re-living our Buffy the Vampire tv series days. It's been fun! Adalie can't get enough of all the new cartoons we can get through our Wii.
The weather here has been wet and it is starting to get a little chilly. I don't mind the chill, but the wet makes things a little depressing for me. I hate walking outside and getting my pants legs wet. I guess I should be an adult though and buy jeans that actually fit or get them tailored to my height lol
My hands and my feet hurt really bad. The crack horribly....any suggestions on a new kind of lotion that actually might work??

Lazy Days
It was my total intention to lay around and do nothing all day today..... It is raining and gross outside so lounging sounds like a good idea. But, we are running out of clean things to wear so I might have to do a few loads of laundry. People are coming over for dinner tomorrow so I should probably clean the house. They will need something to eat on, so that means I have to do dishes. And I might even have to venture outside into the gross to get a few more things for dinner. We're having Gumbo Yum Yum! Cross your fingers I do it right.... I always get nervous every time I make it. Especially when people have it for the first time, I feel like they are judging my cooking LoL. Silly I know, but Brett and I love cooking for lots of people so we always want to make sure people actually enjoy our food. So if any of you feel like making the trip, head on out to Des Moines around 5:30!!

WAAAAAYYYYY behind
On so much really, but what I have been feeling guilty about is scrap booking. Poor Cason really doesn't exist compared to how many scrapbook pages I have of Adalie. I should get on that.

Goo
I took a shower this morning and have already been thrown up on twice. Cason is showing some new symptoms of his runnie nose. Nasty green snot and vomiting. Nice. No fever yet though, so lets keep our fingers crossed it stays that way. Even though I love the fall and holidays, it is also high time flu season and gross nose season, so.....a not looking forward to all that.
Some Adalie news though, she is doing great. She fell off the couch the other day and said "Oh Frik!" haha Ashamed to say she got that from me. I always say oh frik, and it seems like she has been watching me more and more lately.
Brett's school is getting a little more intense, but I am excited for him. I know he can do it and he is just really good at school. He is ready for the semester to be over already. Me too, I am excited for the holiday vaca!!
Question. Do you shut your kids door at night? Or shut your door? I don't know why I am so paranoid about shutting bedroom doors during the night, but I am going to have to start thinking about it.....otherwise some *cough* interesting situations might occur with little ones being able to walk the halls at night.

Blah!
It's a complaining post so you might not want to read it, but I just want to vent it into words...
Have you ever had one of those days when you just want to quit?? I know it sounds way ungrateful and selfish and horrible, but today it just one of those days. Every little thing is getting on my nerves. The only time Cason doesn't cry is when I am holding him. He doesn't sleep for more than thirty mins and even then, it is only laying on me. Don't think about telling Adalie no today either, she will blow up and throw a huge hissy fit. It didn't help that I went to bed at 11:30 and then was up from 3:30 to 6:30 with Adalie. She got to sleep in until 10:30, but Cason woke up at 6:45 and I had to stay up with him. Just wanted to complain to someone and the blogging world seems to be the best listener at the moment. I know the day will get better and tomorrow is a new one. But right now, at this moment, it really stinks.

New Teeth and Runny Noses
Cason has 6 teeth....and it looks like 2 more coming in. He is barely 6 mths old!! Crazy right?? Adalie was the same way. She pretty much had all of her teeth by 1 yr. My next kid will probably be born with teeth. Definitely plan on me freaking out then haha. He tries to eat everything. Paper is his favorite at the moment. He gets mad when Adalie gets a happy meal and he does not. Adalie had left her pizza on the floor and in about 2 mins, there was pizza all over the carpet and all over Cason's face.Quite a fun thing to clean up. This boy is ready for some real food. Is that just a boy trait?? They just eat and eat and eat??
Cason also has a really bad runny nose and a low fever that I think might be because of the teeth coming in?

Letting Him Cry
So, this weekend we started some hard core training. It has been 4 nights of letting Cason just cry it out during the night. Although it broke my heart, and I had to leave the room every time (I went to sleep with Adalie in her bed). I hate, hate, HATE letting my babies just cry. It might just be working though. He slept from 7:30pm to 7isham last night (knock on wood). PLEEEAAASSSSEEE be working. Maybe we will get to move him back in the same room with Adalie again?? That would be nice. I hate tip toeing around in my own room at night and TV time in bed with Brett...Keep up the good work buddy!!
Summer Vaca Cont....
So! Back to our summer 2010 Vacation. With LOTS of pictures!
We left you in Idaho, now onto Colorado Springs!
After the wedding in IF, we followed Brett's parents out to Co to spend a few days with them there.

It took almost 14 hours.....one straight shot with two little ones. Fun Fun!!It was so fun just to get to be there with them and relax. Colorado Springs really is a beautiful place and I don't think I would mind ending up there when all is said and done. A perfect Little Big City.
We took Adalie and Cason to the little rec center there with Grandma and they both loved the water!

Brett's dad took us on a little fishing trip and I won the first catch =) Adalie even caught two fish herself on her little Barbie fishing poll.

I was way impressed. We love fishing and lots of outdoor fun. I always get nervous driving up through the edges of the mountain to get there, but I am a scardy cat. LoL All in all, it was a wonderful trip.
My only complaint? It was way too short, and I didn't take enough pictures. December is too long to wait to see everyone again!

YayyyYYYAAyyyAAy!!!
Brett found our camera!!!! WOO HOO!! Looking through all of the pictures now, I am SO excited and relieved!! Not only was our wonderful summer vacation on there but Adalie's 3rd birthday is on there too and I would've felt very sad and guilty losing those. I am saving them ALL right now to the computer on the off chance our camera is lost again soon. LoL
This means I can get back to blogging about our wonderful summer vacation.....tomorrow. I am so tired.

Autumn
Autumn is my favorite. Well, almost as much as the Spring Beginning. I love it when the weather starts to get a little cooler and there is always a light breeze in the air. All the holidays will be coming soon, and I love that everyone just seems a little nicer during the holidays lol. Today is a perfect light weather jacket day. I can even turn off the AC and open the windows to let the cool breeze in the house. I miss seeing all the colors on the mountains...
I cannot believe we have already been here for a month. I am completely satisfied with the pace so far....so far. It doesn't seem quite as busy or demanding just yet, even though I know it will be soon. For now, I am enjoying the time with Brett home often. We need to get out and explore though and find fun things to do in Des Moines. Any suggestions??
For some reason I am lacking for thoughts when it comes to blogging today. Sorry this one isn't very interesting. I just want to relax and take in the wonderful afternoon. I think we will go to the Zoo tomorrow if the weather is this nice all weekend.
