My past week

So this last Tuesday i had the other half of my thyroid removed. Dr's took some scrapings of the lymphoids to check about the spreading and so far it looks like they got it all! so Good News there! Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday were a little rough but I am feeling so much better faster than last time. I am so glad my sister is here though to help because it has been one heck of a week between Brett and I. Brett got hand, foot, and mouth....yes - that toddler disease. A child's infection. Can happen in adults, but rare. Well leave it to Brett to be the rare. He has been absolutely miserable. Hasn't been able to eat anything since Sunday. He had a bowl of cream of wheat today which was pushing it, but poor thing has been suffering. So, hurting because of all the mouth sores and grumpy because he can't eat and is pretty weak. Couldn't even really talk for a few days. But, it is getting better and most of the sores are cleared in his mouth except two really big ones right behind his front top teeth that still keep him from eating anything. Poor guy has lost like 10 lbs...ya poor Brett there since he is pretty much over half way to his weight goal were he wanted to be by summer. Anywho, he is loosing weight not in a good way, but still- boo on him for getting skinny and me-not so much. Today has been the best so far and hopefully i will be back to normal by tomorrow and can stop taking some pain meds. Someone has to be around here!! Looks like sister is sick now and Brett is still worn out and not doing to well, so that leaves me to be the somewhat well one! Oh, except i may have broken my foot. Weirdest thing ever....tried to gt out of bed this morning and my leg was literally like a limp noodle and a fell hard on my foot. It's funny that Brett is excited to see if it is broken because maybe he will get to do something about it. BUT just my luck though. I do not, however, think it is broken...just super bruised. Give me a few days and it will pass too.

Anywho, boring post but just wanted to give the update. My hormones are super crazy at the moment, i am confused and forgetful about every little thing, the pain meds make me sad and grumpy, I am non-stop exhausted--so I am no fun to be around while the thyroid medicine works its "magic". I will find out Monday if i need to do the radiation iodine treatment. Hopefully that's a NO and we will be all good! I am so thankful for the prayers and all the help. The Lord definitely heard my prayers about feeling alone and unloved with no friends (i know, very silly)-- He gave me thyroid cancer and let me know I have all kinds of friends out there who love me lots and lots. Thanks again and again everyone.

European Carry All

Ever seen that Seinfeld? Well this is Cason's European Carry all bag aka man purse. Aunt Becca sent us a package in the mail a while ago and among the contents inside were two purses. Cason of course thought one was his and has been carrying it around all the time since. One day I decided to take a look to see what he was carrying around all the time....kids got his priorities.
We have a stethoscope, an otoscope, an iphone, brush, baseballs for a quick game anytime, healthy cob of corn for a snack, and of course his gun. Because a girl-errr a boy always needs to be packing is his purse European carry all. So we have a baseball playing, gun slinging Dr in our future folks!
Oh and Brody can reach the table...just the ends so we need to be a little more careful. He has already spilled lots of glasses of water, dropped the camera. almost broke a plate, and got into Adalie's homework. AND if there is a table clothe on the table he knows how to pull it until he can reach what he wants when we try and put it out of his reach. Like the picture above...i thought the Cheetos bag was far enough away from the edge. Well, he figured it out and got them. Little Stinker.
Oh and this is Cason and Cooper. Pretty much best friends. This dog is SO good with the kids, especially with all the crap they put him through. Sometimes I feel quite sorry for the him.

Easter 2013!!

We dyed eggs....even Brody got to try it out, which was of course a mess.

We wrote the kids names on some of the eggs before they put them in the colors without them knowing. They were amazed that their names magically appeared on their Easter Eggs....might keep this magic for next year too!
We took the kids that morning to a city Easter Eggs hunt. They had it split into age groups so Cason and Adlalie were in separate group. Good thing though, because those 5-7 yr olds were RUTHLESS. i wish I had the camera with me to get that action shot of all those big kids taking off.

We also took the kids to the zoo after the hunt for their Easter Eggstravaganza. The zoo is a little sad right now since it is going under a facelift, but it was fun to get out and about still. The weather was terrible, cold and wet, but the kids did not seem to mind. The Easter Bunny was there. Adalie later asked me why he wasn't in a cage like all of the other zoo animals.

Well, despite my kids' (and mine) bad attitudes lately, the Easter Bunny still came.

Brody had fun unpacking everyones' baskets which caused some fights in the early a.m.

Adalie got a Barbie Cruise ship ( we got it on sale after Christmas and just hid it in our closet to give to her for Easter.)
Cason got himself a new bike. It's green. His favorite Color =) And he very excited to learn how to ride it! He practiced all morning in the house and there are little black tire marks all over my floor to prove it. One of the Training wheels came off and he brought it to dad and said "The Easter bunny didn't screw it in!" Oh that darn Easter bunny...sheesh. You would have never known he waited until 10 the night before to put that thing together!

It was a fun Easter. I am so thankful for a living Savior. We had a big dinner with friends, got lots of fun treats, and i still feel like i might pop from all the crud i ate. Brett and i are starting up some insanity workouts again tonight before I go in for surgery again next week. i just might barf.

Happy Easter Everyone!
