Today is Saturday!!
It is a beautiful sunny day and I am trying to muster up the confidence and the will to go outside after nap time today. I'll get back to you in a few hours to let you know if we made it! haha Brett is usually home with us all day Saturdays but today he had to switch some shifts around and is gone till 6:30 so it is just Adalie and I today!! I do need to do some cleaning up though and laundry has already started to get dirty again. Never ending chore. I don't have a car here today either but for some reason I want to go out! Probably just to procrastinate house work and pass some time....I feel like I wait and wait for something to happen every day now! And I am not very good at waiting. LoL

Growing All Over
Lately I feel like we are finally growing up. I know it sounds funny, but there are just so many new and exciting things that have been happening in our lives and that are continuing to happen I just feel like we are on our way to adulthood. haha. Brett and I are only 25, so I know we really haven't been children, but I haven't felt old at all. And we aren't, not by a long shot, but I feel the growing coming. We are going to have children...plural, I still can't get over that. I've said it before, with one it really wasn't a big deal to me and Adalie is just so much fun I feel like she is just a little buddy who tags along with me everywhere I go. Being married is so much fun too and I just get to be with my best friend all the time. Children are always with their best friends too. We have bills. Grown ups have bills. We have jobs. Grown ups have jobs. We are responsible for other human beings, our kids. Grown ups do that too. We learn. I feel like grown ups do that a lot and we are definitely learning lots of things. These next few years are going to stretch and pull us tons! Med school and residency is going to be hard, but I know we are going to learn so much. About life, about each other, about the world and how it works...it is going to be interesting and I have been trying to prepare myself for it a lot lately. It has just been on my mind a bunch. I can't believe Adalie is going to be 3 this summer. She is getting so big and amazes me with her growing. Brett is about to graduate. I never thought it would come this soon.....4 yrs have gone by fast with him when I really stop and think about it. Life is soaring and I feel like we need to learn how to fly!!

Dr's Check Up
I know, Two post in one day but I wanted to let you know how the Dr's went.
Well everything looks good so far! Baby's head is down, we are dilated at a 2, and we are at 80-85%! I always hate getting checked though...I haven't stopped hurting since we have gotten home and I am so tired. We just have to make it till Tuesday at least, then he will be considered "full term" and we can hopefully breath a little easier...although my vote is still the 19th of course. Still haven't convinced myself that I am ready for him to get here yet. Anywho, I can't believe how close we are getting. Sometimes I feel like the days go by too fast, but then again some drag on and on forever haha. Those are the uncomfortable and hurting days.

Sitting and Watching
This is a very random post, but I don't have anything to share! Haha As most of you may know, a lot of this prgnancy has been spent on the couch...especially this last month or so. Adalie has been very good considering we don't get to go out much and she has gotten to watch lots of cartoons which she doesn't mind at all. Cartoons are on from morning (7:30) until nap time (10:30). Anywho the point is, I see a lot of Diego, Dora, Max and Ruby, and Mickey Mouse. I really wish I had one of those backpacks like Dora or Diego though. Dora never has to pack hers and it always has whatever she needs in it....and endless supply of everything whenever I need it but in only 5 inches of space. Wouldn't that be great?? And Diego's is even cooler! It can turn into whatever it wants! Like a boat, a rocket, a car, or my favorite lately - a jet pack.
I am excited though! Lost starts next week....hehehe. I am so anxious to see where they are going to go with all of this. So many un-answered questions, can they answer them all in their last season?!?!

The Weekend
This weekend Brett got to go skiing! Woo hoo finally! He has been putting it off all season because he has felt bad about leaving me and spending money going to have some fun on his own. After a lot of coaxing and convincing, he finally went. He isn't going to get to go for a while with POD school starting soon and with the flat lands of Iowa, so I am glad he went. He got to go with his brother Mike and our nephew Colton and had lots of fun! Hopefully he can sneak one more in before the season is over, although after Saturday I am not sure if he will be up to it again too soon without making a few trips to the gym to get his legs back into shape. Poor guy was so sore and has been wincing in pain all weekend. A little nervous about leaving me by myself with no car, we spent the night at Brett's sister's house Friday night and I spent Saturday with Jennifer. It was fun to see everyone again.
We have all been sick with colds that won't go away. We have had coughs, sore throats, and runny noses for Two Weeks now! I am getting so stressed out because I feel like no one is getting better and we are always sick here!! I finally went to the Dr to make sure it wasn't something else since it has lasted so long, but a viral infection is all it is and has to run it's course....I hate that. Good thing is, no one has gotten fevers yet wish is when I really start to worry. Someone send some healthy our way please!!

36 Weeks
Well here it is! 36 Weeks!!
I am SO tired. I always feel like I am going to fall over and I run into everything. He is growing like crazy and I am gaining lbs fast! Braxton hicks have started again really, really bad, especially at night when I try and relax. I am starting to swell up all over the place and pee about every 10 mins. It is crazy to think he could come at anytime really. I long for my old body back already and clothes that fit. lol I can feel myself getting anxious to meet this little guy, but more and more nervous about labor and delivery. I have a Dr's apt on Wednesday at almost 37 wks so wish us luck!

Household Order
Yesterday was another great day to have Brett home and helping out. The bathroom, our bedroom, and Adalie's room and toys have been scrubbed, polished, and de-germed as much as possible! Today I have started washing all of Baby Cason's clothes and blankets and trying to get them organized and in drawers before he gets here. Next on our list is deep cleaning the living room, kitchen, and organizing some of the closet spaces in the house. So that is probably what Brett will be helping me do over the next few days. I am sure my nesting is driving him crazy, but it feels so good to be so clean!! I am starting to feel some pretty intense pains and it is making me nervous!! It is funny that I don't remember what contractions feel like....the only comfort I have is that they are speratic at the moment and not consistent, so I know at least it is not happening now. I am just very uncomfortable and I have a miserable cold so that makes me feel so drained. Brett is finally beginning to get excited. I am starting to feel his anticipation of the whole thing which is fun. I am pretty sure he would be happy with baby here tomorrow. Adalie too. She keeps jumping around saying we are going to have a baby!! Too early for me though still....just wait until the 19th please Cason.

Followed by a Bad Night
Well, there she was again. Awake at 5:30. I am blaming it on her cough. We have both had a sore throat and bad cough that sneaks in pretty bad at night for over a week now and it is WAY annoying. I need to get rid of it before baby gets here but I always hate going to the Dr and $50 later hearing "Yep! You have a cold! Sorry about that!" I am thinking it is just the weather and wet we have been having because we don't have fevers, which is nice (keep your fingers crossed). We are always sick though....this pregnancy has shot out my immune system. I just want th ings back to a good, healthy normal around here!!

A Good Day
Brett was home and he made a wonderful dinner. Adalie played with her toys most of the day quietly and calmly. She actually took a nap and went to bed relatively on time. The house got cleaned....although dirty again 2 seconds later. Laundry got done. I got to take a nice, hot bubble bath...although interrupted a time or two by Adalie wanting to play in my bubbles. Got caught up on our TiVo with "24". Brett got us some donuts. And now I am just hanging out with Brett, our daughter is asleep (hopefully all night), a bowl full of popcorn, feet propped up, and watching scrubs. Bed is calling our name soon and I long for my pillow and a good nights' sleep to top off the wonderful day we had at home. I feel like we actually accomplished something today in a very calming sort of non-hectic way.... kind of a nice feeling.

5:30 am
Like Clock work, Adalie made her way into our room again at 5:30...well that's when we noticed her standing in the door way. Ugh. I have no idea what the problem is but I think it is time for a major schedule change in her life which is not going to be fun. I have spoiled myself with her sleeping habits of going to bed at 9 or 9:30 and sleeping in until 9 or 9:30 the next day, but now...it doesn't matter how late she is going to bed, she has still been waking up at 5:30 not wanting to go back to bed for almost a week AND she will not take a nap. I have no idea how she does it, but it usually turns out for bad moods during the evenings from both mom and Adalie. So, today we are going to start/try something new. I let her get out of bed at 6:30...(after she screamed until about 6)... and we will be taking a nap at 11 and try going to bed at 8 and waking her up tomorrow morning at 7:30 am. It is going to be a rough couple of days I think, but I might as well try and get her used to something new before Cason gets here and I stress myself out even more then trying something new with her after and dealing with a newborn. So, any suggestions or advice would be appreciated from any other parents out there who have suffered or is currently suffering from same issues. How do you do it?!?

Spoiled
Does anyone else suffer from having a spoiled child? I will admit, I indulge Adalie in a lot that she wants, especially treats now and again because I get some too =). Sometimes I think it is going to be a rude awakening to Adalie when another baby gets here though. She is so good at sharing her toys and her stuff with others, but you tell her the word "NO" and she will scream her head off.I am pretty sure I have written about this many times before but it is just fresh on my mind these last few days again. No you can't watch cartoons. No you can't play in the bathroom. No you can't sleep in mommy and daddy's bed. No you can't have chocolate for breakfast. These are just a few sentences I think I say about 10 times each a day for sure. She has been so good at going to bed at 9:00 like always but has been waking up around 5 for the last few days wanting to rock in the rocking chair with daddy or come in our room to sleep. I know once I start letting her do either, she will form a pattern and always do it, so I won't. The past two nights there have been some screaming matches at 5 A.M. for about an hour, sometimes two, until she falls asleep again. Not fun. I need to have a lot more patience, and being pregnant it is hard because I hurt all the time and I just get lazy and want to give in so she will stop crying and my head will stop pounding. Sometimes I get so stressed and scared at the thought of two because I can just imagine them both going off at the same time. I am so glad I have a spouse though who helps and takes a lot of it on himself whenever he can. And I am so glad there are so many more sweet moments to remember and have all the time too.

Week 35 Begins!
I had my check up yesterday and all seems to be going well! She didn't put me on complete bed rest which is great news, just "take it easy...still don't lift and drive" rest haha! I am at and 80% and dilated a one...same as around Christmas. She wants to induce on February 19th if he doesn't make his debut before hand. She is guessing he will come quick and and labor will be fast, so I would rather have it planned out as much as possible, or rather have the piece of mind of having it planned out than have him at home on my kitchen floor. haha Oh can you imagine!! I would be scared for life and never want anymore children... It is only a few days before his due date (23rd) so nothing too scary because I will basically be in my 40th week anyway.....I just hope he waits till then. I don't think I want him here any earlier. I am getting so nervous! One month! Ahh!!

ScrapBooking
I have fallen behind on my scrapbooking, but have been picking up the slack lately...it being all I do now a days since all I do is sit and wait. I have about 100 more pictures to scrapbook and I will be up to date from Marriage to Now. I am such a dork but I am way excited about it. For Christmas, my mother in law got me a new Scrapbook with some pages to do and Brett got me a huge one to put in all the pages I have already done so they are all together. It is wonderful! I didn't realize I had so many!! In four years I have about 120 pages front and back which I realize may not seem a lot to serious scrapbookers out there but holy cow I didn't know I had so many!! I love going back and looking at all the pictures and our lives together so far. It is so fun to see how we have grown. Plus, I want to get all I can done right now because I know in the years to come, the more kids I have running around the harder it will be to do. Hopefully I will be all caught up by the time Cason gets here because that will start another adventure of scrapbooking pictures.
January
Oh January! So many shows and so little time to watch them all! But don't worry...we will keep you all on our TiVo for as long as it allows until we get to each of you. American Idol. The Office. 24. Lost. Bones. House. Law and Order SVU. Scrubs. NCIS. Psych. We love you all so, so much. This is definitely the semester in our household to be addicted to the TV...and with a new baby on the way and the snow outside, we might just be suffering from couch potato-itis until April.

Sunday
It is actually 12 AM Monday morning and it was quite the Sunday! We had family over tonight for some Gumbo and it was so fun to have people over for a bit. My sister is staying the night tonight with her girls to have a sleep over. It is 12:00 and Adalie sits beside me wide awake....I thought she would've passed out hours ago but her excitement has lasted into the wee morning hours. I wonder when we will go to sleep...and if she will sleep in tomorrow. I think that would be nice.

Pregnancy Jitters
If I had my way I would go into labor on a Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday when Brett is home pretty much all day and can answer his phone without being in the basement for classes at BYU. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from about 8 to 11 Brett has no phone service while in school and for some reason this makes me awfully nervous. Just my luck it would happen during those times and it would happen fast. Adalie's labor lasted about a whole 7 hours start to finish and pretty much pain free from the start too. I had the epidural right away because they offered it right when I got there and I jumped on it!! It was actually a pretty great experience and I was very, very lucky. I want to be that lucky again, but I have heard labor times can be cut in half with baby to baby and they usually go faster than your first.... and that makes me really, really nervous. I don't know how I would be handle that. Although, I guess I would have no choice and have to deal with it haha. Anywho, just more pregnancy jitters. They have definitely started. I don't remember a thing about newborns, just always feeling worried and lack of sleep.

Week 34 Countdown
How??
This was the scene this morning in Adalie's room. She was out of her crib/toddler bed, on the floor next to her other toddler bed's mattress (for use when other baby gets here so he can have the crib) which was pulled onto the floor, surrounded by toys.
Not really sure how this happened but at least she was asleep and didn't wake us up all night. Although i think she might have tried to wake us up but gave up after realizing we wouldn't budge. She has been waking up around 3 or 4 in the morning to try and come in our room but gets scared because it is so dark in there. I put a little night light in our room last night thinking she would just come and get us if she needed us, but I honestly don't know if she came in or not though. I need to put the gate up in the hall way because Brett thinks she might have ventured out into the living room in the wee hours and who knows what trouble she might get herself into if she is awake all by herself with no parental supervision.

2 Seconds
...is how long it takes for the house to get destroyed with one child, what is it going to be like with two!?!? I am sure it just seems worse to me now since picking up a little candy wrapper often ensues a lot more effort from me now with my big prego belly and aching limbs. I hope to have more energy and be in a lot better shape after baboo gets here soon. The problem I think for me is going to be jumping on that band wagon after a very spoiled pregnancy of sweets and very little activity on my part. But, I remember what it was like to be bigger and I definitely never want to be there again. So, come March I am on my way to a very healthier me and a whole healthier household! Good luck to everyone else out there on their treks to being healthy! I know there are a lot of you out there! Keep it Up!

An Education
I feel like the older I get the dumber I become! I hate being out of school right now and long for the days I can go back!! One of my absolute biggest regrets is not finishing when I had the chance right before and right after Adalie was born... I should have bucked up and just done it! If there is one thing I want my kids to know in life, it is how IMPORTANT and education is and how can I teach that to them without being an example first? Especially with my girls...I want them to have a degree. Something. Brett is such a good example already with school and what you can achieve...I am so proud. I am going back to school. Even if its not until Brett is done with med school over these next 4 to 7 yrs and I am 30+, I am determined I need to go back. You can never learn to much, and sometimes I feel so stupid with little things I forget....especially my spelling which is horrid and my grammar which is slipping away! How sad!! Anywho, that's my rant for the day. I couldn't remember how to spell "wait" for a few minutes today and it made me feel really, really dumb. And then I couldn't remember how to do simple division without the computer calculator close at hand. haha

Past Week
It was wonderful having Brett around so much last week! We didn't really do too much, bu it was fun just hanging out together as a family and doing a little shopping together here and there. It is funny to me that grocery shopping as a couple can turn into a date now a days for us haha. Today he started school though and his long hour days and in February will be even worse when he starts another job, and then POD school will start and that will be a beast too without him here. So, I am trying to just be grateful for anytime I can get with him home and with us! Just to show how much I enjoyed myself with him home a lot for the holidays and school break, I have done 10 loads of laundry between Saturday and Today....taking a break on Sunday of course. I finally had to give in and start because we were running our of G's and Blue jeans and towels. Hahaha. Anywho, the tree has been put away, lights are no longer strung, and now it is time to deep clean the house top to bottom to get ready for Babies arrival soon....6 weeks. I cannot believe I only have six weeks, and that's if we even make it the six weeks I have left which the Dr thinks I won't. We'll see though. I think I might be pretty upset if this baby turns out to be late. LoL

Ringing in The New Year
Well, Happy New Year! Goodbye 2009! It was a fun year with lots of fun happenings, but hello 2010! A lot is going to be happening this year for our family and we are pretty excited/nervous about it all. A baby soon. School starts again next week. Brett is starting a second job for a while (he only gets 20 hrs a wk at BYU...but I am sad to have him gone for 40). We will have a collage graduate in the house in April! A fun family trip planned for Texas in the summer. Adalie will turn 3! We will be moving to Iowa. Brett will start POD school...those are just some of the things I can think of that will be happening in the next 6 mths, but I am sure the year will be full of fun things!
Last night Brett made us a wonderful rib dinner with funeral potatoes and we toasted in the new year with our Sparkling Cider. Adalie didn't stay up though and still went to bed at 9. She was up all day and pretty tuckered out so I didn't think she would make it too long. There is always something about the New Year that's so nice. I think it gives people hope. Everyone feels like they get a new start and it is always a good time to wipe the slate clean and start a new! I like the feeling of starting over and I wish everyone good luck and a Happy New year with all your goals and wishes!! We have some fun family and individual goals to work on ourselves too!! Happy New 2010!!
