A Shout out toThe InLaws

I consider myself one of the lucky few in the world to have married into a GREAT family!! Especially my overly cute and wonderful in laws =) They came to visit all Thanksgiving week and it was SO great! They spoiled us immensely with delicious food, awesome company, presents, fun game time, cleaning, doing laundry, and even babysitting. It was absolutely beyond wonderful to have them here and I love it every time we get to see them. I have been a little embarrassed lately though because my not so good side comes out when I am pregnant. So, they got to see a lot of grumpy, nauseated, and mean Lydia yelling at her kiddos, but I am assuming they still love me anyway. I might of, however, gone down a few notches with my father-in-law when he found out I actually hate John Wayne and Clint Eastwood.....(he is a ginormous western fan). Sorry about that one dad...BUT I do absolutely adore Sam Elliot and I can say that Lonesome Dove is one of my favorites.

My mother in law got a wonderful new camera, so we took all of the pictures of their visit with hers. Of course, I forgot to get them on the computer before she left so I am MIA on Thanksgiving pictures and even us celebrating a little early Christmas together since we won't get to see them this year. I DID however get pictures of Adalie's beautiful room that my mother in law decked out for her!! I LOVE it SO much!! She made these gorgeous valances for both Adalie's room and Cason's and it is BEYOND fun to actually have a little girl room and a boy room!! Seriously, I love love love it so much! I make Brett go in and look at it at least 2 or 3 times a day since it was all put together. Just a few more things to go in Cason's room (hint, hint to brett for some sports bedding)All in all it was such a wonderful visit and we miss them so much already. Dad- Cason keeps asking for coke and keeps wanting us to put pretzels in his pocket. Mom- Adalie was covering up with her new blanket and said "I love this blanket. It is so soft and smells so good....is smells just like Grandma."

Thanks mom and dad. We miss you and it was so awesome to have you here. We love you

Week Ahead

This week is going to be a busy, but super fun week. Brett is test free for almost two whole weeks. My wonderful in laws will be in town tomorrow!! We get to stuff ourselves silly with food. We will be putting up the Christmas tree and the rest of our lights. There will be shopping also. And Brett and I get to go to the temple. It is going to be great!!

Other news, my memory is getting worse. Brett seems to be catching "pregnancy brain" this time around too. He seems to be forgetting things left and right and going a little crazy as well. Makes me feel better to have company =) I keep changing my passwords to everything....because I keep forgetting them. I keep going the the store thinking I don't need a list and forgetting the main reason why I go in the first place. Yesterday I forgot to put on my shoes when I went out. Oh, Brett thinks I have gestational diabetes. Dr found a little sugar in my urine and Brett has been informing me in all of his medical mumbo jumbo that I most likely have it. Which means he is becoming a sugar nazi. Good news though....my glucose test is not for another 2 weeks, so until it is in writing- I will be enjoying all the Thanksgiving sugar I want.

Getting started on my Thanks

Today was a not so good kind of day. Lots of yelling, frustration, and frowning here. Days like today when I am pretty sure my kids and hubby don't like me so much. Starting off with one of the biggest thank yous -- today I am very grateful for forgiving hearts and unconditional love even when my attitude doesn't deserve it. I am SO blessed to have a family that loves me no matter what. I am overjoyed to have a husband who still chooses and finds somehow to love and adore me. I am so thankful for the home I was raised in and mine and Brett's wonderful parents who do so much for us day after day. All in all, I am just so thankful for family. Although all of you are so far away from us at the moment, we love you and think of you often. Happy Thanksgiving Y'all and we miss you.

Kennel Up!!

Finding new way to keep the kids contained... Don't worry, they went willingly as you can tell by the smiles on their faces. It has actually turned into quite the effort to keep them OUT of it.

HairCut

Well, I actually paid to get Cason a haircut. We have always just shaved it, but we thought about giving it a little style this time so I took him to supercuts. 14$ for a two yr old haircut. Positively ridiculous if you ask me. Especially since we will have to cut it again in like two weeks. I watch close though and think I can do it. Besides, if we mess up we can just buzz it all over. GREAT thing about having a boy I must say. He does however look very handsome and so grown up. He did a lot better than I expected...and by that I mean he actually sat still in the booster seat for more than three minutes. I had even brought along a few suckers for bribes and didn't have to give it to him until the end. I was impressed. I did not, however tip the stylist this time. Sorry, you did charge me 14$ and you made it in less than 20 mins.
Oh and I caught a rare moment when my kids were not fighting and actually being sweet with one another.

Ya, We did it, So what!

Brett comes to me the other day and says out of the blue "lets start decorating for Christmas". I thought he was being cruel at first trying to get my hopes up and then say "haha just kidding". But no, he was totally serious. This is a HUGE deal since last year he threw a fit about me decorating the day after Thanksgiving because it was still November. It is November 5th and we are half way done decorating for Christmas. I know-- shame on us and Poor Thanksgiving but hey, we aren't going to be around much for Christmas here in IA so we want to enjoy it for a while in our new place, so no haters please. Our tree isn't up yet though so at least its not that bad right?? Although I am sure that will happen next weekend. I wish I was better at decorating and or had money to go all out with it, but alas I am not so my house is what I like to call good try festive. It is fun and puts us in the holiday mood that's all that matters eh? Brett even bought us candy cane lights for our porch way and our first Christmas village piece. We've decided it to be a new tradition to add one each year. We are however arguing about the lights on the roof. We have quite the steep rooftop and Brett wants to climb up on the roof to put up the lights of which I of course will not let him do. It's not that I do not want lights up all over the roof, I just do not want him ON TOP of the roof and told him he needs a ladder....like the one that leans against the house. Seems a little safer to me. Plus, we have bad experiences in the Jenkins family of men falling off roofs. So along with car trouble, I am sure I brought that curse into our marriage and will have no part of Brett being on roofs. I had to hide the roof clamps from him to make sure he didn't do it.

And they will remain hidden until I see that he has a ladder.

Halloween 2011

So Halloween has already come and gone....crazy it went so fast!! The kids of course enjoyed dressing up in their costumes and getting people to give them candy. Adalie asked to go trick or treating every night for almost a week. I don't know if you remember from last year, but here in Iowa they have beggars night (on the 30th) and go trick or treating then instead of on actual Halloween night which is considered a grown up lets get drunk holiday in IA. So since beggars night fell on a Sunday, mean mommy and daddy didn't let the kids go trick or treating. But before you think I am too mean, we did go to a trunk or treat party on the 31st =).
Cason as a Texas Longhorn.

Cooper having fun on Halloween night. This dog is squeezed often around here...

Our Wonder Woman
Brett and I got to go to our great friend the Hyde's who hosted a SPECTACULAR Halloween dinner/party at their house. We were pretty bummed we couldn't make it last year with the kiddos sick, so we were SO excited to go this year!! It was so fun to get to hang out with some adults and it was required costume attire. So Brett was Mr Clean and I was the maid he got pregnant haha. Anywho, Enjoy LOTS of pictures!!Our Wonderful Host Spencer and Corrin who dressed as each other for the special occasion. Haha way funny

Oh and Hello November!!!! Cannot believe you're already here.....gunna be a fun one!!
