Lately
It's crunch time here. We are Texas bound in just a few days and Cason has strep.. Awwweeeesooommmmeeee. Dr even mentioned walking pneumonia just to raise my stress and anxiety levels even higher. I seriously could've gone without her mentioning it. He is on antibiotics and is hopefully showing signs of improvement in the next two days or we might have to postpone our trip.
Wednesday I took that nasty glucose test for gestational diabetes and I PASSED!! Woot Woot!! Now I don't have to sneak behind Brett's back to enjoy all the Christmas goodies =) Since Brett has however just finished his nutrition class, come January we are a healthy, no trans fats, brown rice eating kind of people. Gunna be fuuuuunnnnn.
Today we took Brett to work a the golf course where he is a parking valet. We normally do not have to do this, but today was a hard day to own only one car. Anywho, kids were in the car and Adalie asked what this place was were Daddy was going.. Me:"Its were daddy does his valet." Adalie: "Daddy goes here to do Ballet huh? I didn't know Daddy was a dancer!!" Brett said he's not surprised, she has seen him dance and he has obvious natural talent =)
Adalie is going to miss her Christmas Program next week for preschool and she has been practicing extremely hard for it. She has been singing us the songs every night before bed and doing the dances at least twice a day. She is going to be absolutely devastated and I still have not figured out a way to break it to her. I am so worried about telling her and breaking her little heart!!

Tonight
Tonight my children practically crawled into bed themselves. They were both extremely tired and asleep by seven....well Cason chatted to himself unti about 7:20. Bedtime is normally seven thirty -- with Adalie usually protesting until 8 sometimes 8:30, so 7:00 for her at least is a BIG deal. Hope this doesn't mean they are getting sick though. And I also hope this doesn't mean they will be up at 6 am. Eewww.
It is snowing now. This isn't the first snow fall, but it looks like it will definitely make an impact on the day tomorrow. It might be sticking around for a bit. Very pretty to look at but dreadful to step foot in. Kids will be excited about it and it looks like its time to pull out the snow tube.
I keep going back and forth on names for this baby boy. Porter is our first choice, but I want to make SURE it fits. I am glad we have some time to think about it. There is also Baylen, Neldon, or Reed. I don't remember fighting with names so much with Adalie or Cason, but this time seems a little more difficult for me. I have 11 weeks to figure things out, so that's good.
Anywho, there really isn't much news or interesting things going on in this post but I am passing the time until my hubby comes home.
I really, really want a doughnut right now.

A Wicked Weekend =)
So, I have finally taken a prego picture. 27 Weeks. This time around I have gotten big....fast. knowing that there is still 10 plus weeks of growth coming from this thing makes me extremely nervous. I am swelling ALL over...this is new for me. Somehow my feet and hands and face got somewhat spared the first two times. NOT this time apparently.
I have been putting my bra on like my mother....(you know, bending over to stuff them all in) and even undershirts don't seem to solve the cleavage problems I have been having. I might have to start wearing turtle necks. Yesterday while talking to Brett I said "Man I feel like I have doubled in size this last week alone!! I already weigh *censored* and I don't think I have ever been this big pregnant." Then my wonderful husband reminded me "No you went into the hospital at like 192 when you had Cason. You were big" Awww thanks honey!!!
On a happier note though =), Brett took me to go see Wicked yesterday and it was SO amazingly wonderful! I cried of course and had chills all over.
Brett loved it as well. I am so happy I have a very balanced husband who enjoys both sports and his espn and also shares my love of Broadway. I Always bring the camera when we go to things like this and end up taking like one picture because I always forget I have it in my coat pocket. But, here it is- somewhat documented. It really was wonderful...so magical even =)
This is where we were sitting. Awesome seats, smack dab in the middle, and NO zoom required for the picture. We were THAT close. Very, very awesome. Thank You honey for taking me. It was SUCH a blast!!

Weird Kids
So wired things I have caught my kids doing lately.
Cason talking to the wall. Quite frequently.
Adalie licking the carpet. Wow
Cason wearing Adalie's Princess dress while reading books.
Adalie eating cauliflower.
All of these things I sort of treated with a don't ask don't tell kind of attitude.

A Shout out toThe InLaws
I consider myself one of the lucky few in the world to have married into a GREAT family!! Especially my overly cute and wonderful in laws =) They came to visit all Thanksgiving week and it was SO great! They spoiled us immensely with delicious food, awesome company, presents, fun game time, cleaning, doing laundry, and even babysitting. It was absolutely beyond wonderful to have them here and I love it every time we get to see them. I have been a little embarrassed lately though because my not so good side comes out when I am pregnant. So, they got to see a lot of grumpy, nauseated, and mean Lydia yelling at her kiddos, but I am assuming they still love me anyway. I might of, however, gone down a few notches with my father-in-law when he found out I actually hate John Wayne and Clint Eastwood.....(he is a ginormous western fan). Sorry about that one dad...BUT I do absolutely adore Sam Elliot and I can say that Lonesome Dove is one of my favorites.
My mother in law got a wonderful new camera, so we took all of the pictures of their visit with hers. Of course, I forgot to get them on the computer before she left so I am MIA on Thanksgiving pictures
and even us celebrating a little early Christmas together since we won't get to see them this year. I DID however get pictures of Adalie's beautiful room that my mother in law decked out for her!!
I LOVE it SO much!! She made these gorgeous valances for both Adalie's room and Cason's and it is BEYOND fun to actually have a little girl room and a boy room!! Seriously, I love love love it so much! I make Brett go in and look at it at least 2 or 3 times a day since it was all put together. Just a few more things to go in Cason's room (hint, hint to brett for some sports bedding)

All in all it was such a wonderful visit and we miss them so much already. Dad- Cason keeps asking for coke and keeps wanting us to put pretzels in his pocket. Mom- Adalie was covering up with her new blanket and said "I love this blanket. It is so soft and smells so good....is smells just like Grandma."
Thanks mom and dad. We miss you and it was so awesome to have you here. We love you

Week Ahead
This week is going to be a busy, but super fun week. Brett is test free for almost two whole weeks. My wonderful in laws will be in town tomorrow!! We get to stuff ourselves silly with food. We will be putting up the Christmas tree and the rest of our lights. There will be shopping also. And Brett and I get to go to the temple. It is going to be great!!
Other news, my memory is getting worse. Brett seems to be catching "pregnancy brain" this time around too. He seems to be forgetting things left and right and going a little crazy as well. Makes me feel better to have company =) I keep changing my passwords to everything....because I keep forgetting them. I keep going the the store thinking I don't need a list and forgetting the main reason why I go in the first place. Yesterday I forgot to put on my shoes when I went out. Oh, Brett thinks I have gestational diabetes. Dr found a little sugar in my urine and Brett has been informing me in all of his medical mumbo jumbo that I most likely have it. Which means he is becoming a sugar nazi. Good news though....my glucose test is not for another 2 weeks, so until it is in writing- I will be enjoying all the Thanksgiving sugar I want.

Getting started on my Thanks
Today was a not so good kind of day. Lots of yelling, frustration, and frowning here. Days like today when I am pretty sure my kids and hubby don't like me so much. Starting off with one of the biggest thank yous -- today I am very grateful for forgiving hearts and unconditional love even when my attitude doesn't deserve it. I am SO blessed to have a family that loves me no matter what. I am overjoyed to have a husband who still chooses and finds somehow to love and adore me. I am so thankful for the home I was raised in and mine and Brett's wonderful parents who do so much for us day after day. All in all, I am just so thankful for family. Although all of you are so far away from us at the moment, we love you and think of you often. Happy Thanksgiving Y'all and we miss you.

HairCut
Well, I actually paid to get Cason a haircut. We have always just shaved it, but we thought about giving it a little style this time so I took him to supercuts. 14$ for a two yr old haircut. Positively ridiculous if you ask me. Especially since we will have to cut it again in like two weeks. I watch close though and think I can do it. Besides, if we mess up we can just buzz it all over. GREAT thing about having a boy I must say. He does however look very handsome and so grown up.

Ya, We did it, So what!
Brett comes to me the other day and says out of the blue "lets start decorating for Christmas". I thought he was being cruel at first trying to get my hopes up and then say "haha just kidding". But no, he was totally serious. This is a HUGE deal since last year he threw a fit about me decorating the day after Thanksgiving because it was still November. It is November 5th and we are half way done decorating for Christmas. I know-- shame on us and Poor Thanksgiving but hey, we aren't going to be around much for Christmas here in IA so we want to enjoy it for a while in our new place, so no haters please. Our tree isn't up yet though so at least its not that bad right?? Although I am sure that will happen next weekend. I wish I was better at decorating and or had money to go all out with it, but alas I am not so my house is what I like to call good try festive. It is fun and puts us in the holiday mood that's all that matters eh? Brett even bought us candy cane lights for our porch way and our first Christmas village piece. We've decided it to be a new tradition to add one each year. We are however arguing about the lights on the roof. We have quite the steep rooftop and Brett wants to climb up on the roof to put up the lights of which I of course will not let him do. It's not that I do not want lights up all over the roof, I just do not want him ON TOP of the roof and told him he needs a ladder....like the one that leans against the house. Seems a little safer to me. Plus, we have bad experiences in the Jenkins family of men falling off roofs. So along with car trouble, I am sure I brought that curse into our marriage and will have no part of Brett being on roofs. I had to hide the roof clamps from him to make sure he didn't do it.
And they will remain hidden until I see that he has a ladder.

Welcome Home Cooper
I knew one day it WOULD happen.....especially with a husband like Brett. We will have a dog and be one of those dog people. Well, here he is folks, our very own puppy.

His name is Cooper. He is about 10 weeks old and he is a Yorkie Poo (Yorkshire terrier and poodle mix). He is super cute and a fun breed for kids to have. He is so little, most of him is just fluff for now, but he should only get to be about 9 to 11 lbs which is perfect for apartments =) Brett has been buggin me for months to get a puppy. He has wanted one so bad for so long, since we first got married. He grew up with dogs, I however did not, so this is new for me. I am not a big fan of cleaning up animal poop or doggie kisses or dog breath or the smell of dog food, but cooper sure is cutie and fills the snuggle void I have in my life from time to time since my kids have outgrown me for that.

The kids love him and he gets plenty of playtime with them....but not too much as too overload the poor guy. They get him for about 15 mins and then he gets at least a half hour break in his "play pen". He is probably going to have to get used to being mauled, but for now we are just letting him get used to a new place =)
He is mostly Brett's responsibility. That was part of the agreement in getting him. Brett does most of the work, but of course the chances of me getting away with not doing anything are slim to nothing. Anywho, just wanted to tell you about our puppy. It may sound silly, but There are some moments in life where I actually feel like a typical American family. This is one of those moments. Working husband. Stay at home mommy. One Girl. One Boy. And a Dog.

Pumpkin Carving
Every year we have the Sorensen Pumpkin carving. We usually have friends that join us and make caramel apples, baked pumpkin seeds, and do some fun carving! We got two little pumpkins for the kiddos and some paint since we don't yet trust them with knifes. Brett and I cheated of course and bought a pumpkin carving kit...
Cason had a ton of fun and got paint everywhere of course. I was a little worried about him getting sick since I am pretty sure he ate some of the water proof paint. Next year I am thinking edible paints.
Brett carved the headless horseman and I just did the bat. We forgot to get some awesome pictures of them lit up and our pumpkins are already looking gross (thanks a lot humidity). I think Brett is going to do another one this weekend so we can have a cool one to put out with candles and stuff for Halloween night. Happy Almost Halloween People!!
what are you going to be for Halloween??? I am trying to get brett to dress up but I am pretty sure it is a no go. I told him he should just go as Mr. Clean and we can bick his head again. And I can be a pregnant housewife =) haha

Windy
Adalie has a new friend. She is from Africa but she visits us quite a bit these days. She even has a little brother, Little little Windy. She met Windy about 3 months ago and they do all sorts of things together. Read books, ride in the car, go grocery shopping, play Princess, lots of fun things that only girls can do. Oh and Adalie says she is always helping me drive the car.
My little girl has an imaginary friend, but don't ever call her imaginary around Adalie. She gets extremely upset and angry if you do. This is how she explains her.... Windy is just that --the wind. She talks to her and windy is always there, especially lately with fall here. Like I said, normally she lives in Africa apparently but speaks Mexican and English.
I never had an imaginary friend growing up and Brett doesn't remember one wither. I am sure Adalie will one day forget she even had one too but I had to write it down so I can remember and will have proof to show her later.

Quick Update
Hello again, sorry for my absence! We have been trying to move and get organized so blogging hasn't been much on my mind lately.Good news though! We are all moved in and decorated...well mostly. For some reason I still have a few piles of clothes to put away and Cason's room isn't quite the way I want it just yet but MOST of everything is done. And it feels GREAT! We absolutely love our new apartment and still can't believe we live here.
Anywho, what else is going on you ask?? Well the Baby #3 looks great. Dr says the ultrasound turned out beautifully so that takes a little worry out of the picture. I have to take that horrible diabetes test and a few others to make sure everything else is okay in the next few weeks which I am not too excited about though.
Well that's pretty much all I have to write about today. I know its boring but I just wanted to check in and let you know the move went great.
It's nice to be home.

Movin and Groovin
Tuesday we are in our new apartment for reals. We have been moving things all weekend....well some of the weekend. We have taken 6 loads in our van and the house is pretty much empty. Mostly big stuff and storage left. Its been fun and exciting getting in to a new place but I have a humungous headache. Since there is nothing all the walls or really anything big in there yet, there is quite the echo in the house. The kids scream at the top of their lungs every time we get there because they think it is the coolest thing....my head says otherwise. I am glad tomorrow is Sunday and we get to take a little break. It is 8:45 and I can barely keep my eyes open. I am getting old.
I am kind of sad becuase I don't look pregnant, just fat. After I had Cason I lost 20 lbs of the 30 I gained so I started this pregnancy off bigger than the other two and it shows. No cute belly bump here, just lard all over LoL. I have even lost 5 lbs since I have been pregnant but trust me, you can't notice. Brett and I officially way the same, acutally he hasn't weighed himself in front of me (and swears he never will again) for a while because last time he was 1 pound less than me...
I am pissed

Its A...
BOY!! Looks like we are going to have another hooligan running around here and Cason will have a buddy to get in trouble with. I am extremely excited and nervous at the same time. This is when pregnancy gets real for me and the worry, excitement, fear, love, every emotion you can imagine starts to flow like an uncontrollable volcanic eruption. Brett seems to be excited about it too even though he thought it was going to be a girl =)
We took Adalie and Cason with us to the appointment. When the nursed said Its a boy!! Adalie sank her head down and said aaaooohhhhh but I wanted a sister. She was actually quite upset but quickly got over it and is very excited that there is just a baby in there. Which, by the way, she thought we were going to take out of my stomach and bring home today.
So, here we are Baby #3 and little boy #2....gunna be quite the adventure folks!!

Gunna Pull my Hair out!
Absolutely horrible night! Yes, if the time is correct on the blogger screen- it is 3 stinkin am. Cason has been up every hour since 10:30 wanting nana (milk). And stupid me keeps giving it to him. He has probably been through about half a gallon already. This kid doesn't just cry or whimper -he screams bloody murder. And will not stop. He has been absolutely horrible for the last week. I can handle once a night, but three and four is pushing it and only makes me want to pull both his and my hair out! I cannot get back to sleep. I am an emotional wreck at the moment, seriously no good. Completely stressed out. I am wondering what the heck is going on with him and wondering at this exact moment why we signed up for another one. Sheesh. I, unfortunately do not posses the talent to drown out a babies cry. I cannot sleep with even the least amount of whimper spewing from my children's mouths. I think Brett wonders why I feel like I need a nap every day.....like a 3 hour nap at least.
So, let's hear the advice people. I have vented and strangely feel a little more calm so thats good...
Cold Turkey is not my favorite answer but I will resort to it if needs be and it will probably be the closest thing to heck on Earth I can imagine at the moment. Oh and no Bourbon...as much as my grandmother will tell me it works like a charm every time, I just don't think I can do it. Unless I am the one getting to drink it.
