Christmas 2010

Was Awesome....It has been such a blast being on vaca here in Colrado with Family. Christmas morning went pretty well with lots of wonderful presents and company all around. I got a brand new kitchen pot and pans and skillets set!! I am SOOOOO excited to throw all of our 1$ diashes away from when we got married and have real cookwear around the house!! Anywho, sorry this post insn't very interesting in words, but here are a few pictures of everyone!! Enjoy and Happy New Year everyone!! Hello Again!

Well, we did make it to Colorado and sick free!! Awesome!!! This is actually day 4 here, but we have been so busy, I completely forgot we even had a blog about our lives. It has been so fun hanging out here with Great Grandma and Grandpa, and Grandma and Grandpa-rado so far. Kids warmed right up to them in no time and now are crawling all over them. Did I forgot to tell you guys that Cason is waking all over the place??? 9 1/2 months old and a walker. It's killing me. I wasn't mentally prepared to have him walking yet and now he is into everything...including Grandma's dishwasher. Grandpa and Grandma took us to go see Santa last night and it was so fun! When Santa asked Adalie what she wanted for Christmas, she said a tea set and blocks....he answered by saying Is that all?? And Adalie happily said Yes. She will be so happy to see she got both for Christmas =) Anywho, I can't promise I will blog much for the next few days but I am sure I will be with the rest of the blogging traveling world with a catch up post soon. Till them, we are enjoying good food, great company, and my mother in law's bathroom and tub I could live in forever...

I. Am. Starving.

Half a bowl of Roman noodles. A Diet Coke. Half a small McDonald's Milk shake (not my favorite but thank you honey). Bottle of Water. Snuck a piece of string cheese. Bottle of Water. 12oz can of Sprite Zero.

No, I am not dieting....just getting ready to clean out my colon. Tons of fun to be had tomorrow on the toilet so don't call....

Goodbye Warm Weather

I have finally decided to put away the summer clothing. I have been in denial these last few days thinking that I will wake up to shorts and sandals weather, but it's just not going to happen. From here on out, I am sure there will be snow on the ground. It is sad that I am looking forward to the 20 degree weather that today will have to offer. It stays in the single digits here during the winter....isn't that terrible!?!?! I am at a lack for things to write about these days. I am looking forward to the holidays and also, the sick around here seems to be taking up most of the space in my head. Brett's last test is on Friday and we are BOTH excited for him to be done. It will be wonderful break not having to worry about books and lectures and tests. Hope everyone else is getting geared up and excited about the holidays too!! Merry Almost Christmas Everyone!!

More Stuff Around Here

Both of my kiddos have strep throat. No idea where or how they even got it, but it is so sad. Cason has a double ear infection again and if they can't get them cleared up by next week, we will probably have to go and put tubes in his ears. I haven't cleaned my house all week. I have vacuumed a few times and stuffed things in the corner so we don't trip on things, but I really haven't cleaned a thing. Adalie has gotten quite good at soaking up the sympathy of being sick. Today she asked if she could open a Christmas present from underneath the tree because she is sick and it would make her feel better. She was also running around playing Rapunzel with Daddy as her Prince. They danced and got married. Daddy even gave her a ring....Good signs that she is starting to feel a little better =)

Today was the first snow fall here in Iowa and will continue through the night. Up to six inches. 14 degrees now and 0 to 5 degrees around midnight. Niiiiiiiicccceeeee! We are supposed to leave for Colorado next Saturday and so far the 10 day forecast has a clear the whole route on Saturday and Sunday. So, ever still keep your fingers crossed that everyone will hurry and get better and the weather will stay nice so we can travel soon!

My sister Heather had her little boy yesterday. 10 lbs 7 ounces!! Vaginal birth!!!! And he was a little over a week early!!So glad the epidural worked for her. Poor little Colt though, his face was black and blue because he got a little stuck coming out and they had to do some rough pulling. I cannot imagine pushing something like that out...I would literally die I am sure. I think Heather deserves some kind of a reward if you ask me. LoL

Anywho, gotta get the kiddos all medicined up and into bed

Worst Luck

I feel like we have had the worst luck with sickness around here lately. Since the day we left Texas (almost 2 weeks ago) Somone has been sick. Mostly Cason...everyday since. Tomorrow both Cason and Adalie are going back to the Dr. Cason just finished a 5 day antibiotic 2 days ago and I am afraid he will have to go on yet another one. Poor kids both have high fevers. Cason is puking and pooping all over the place. Brett and I haven't really slept in 2 days. Poor Brett has a test tomorrow and 2 more next week. I have said it before, but schedules are impossible for sick children. I just want healthy kids. I want a healthy family and I want the worry to stop. My stress and lack of patience are at an ultimate high. I really want them to be better before I have to do my colonoscopy next Thursday and really, really want them to be better before we leave for Colorado on the 19th. Keep your fingers crossed and cover your mouths when you cough around my children please....and I have some antibacterial in my purse to for your dirty, germy hands.

p.s. i still have to write a talk for Sunday. Someone do it for me please.

Boring Busy Bodies

It is so stinkin cold here in Iowa. There is no snow on the ground yet, but the wind here is enough to kill you itself. 21 degrees outside with a wind chill of NEGATIVE 1. It is funny, but Brett says he is looking forward to the warm weather Colorado will have to offer us over the Christmas break....haha. Since we have been home, Cason has been so sick and we have been trying to get the house in order and cleaned before we leave again here in a few weeks for Christmas. These next two weeks are going to be a killer. Brett will be studying like crazy for his finals and I will try my hardest to play single mommy to decrease the stress of it all. Christmas break can't come soon enough!!

We saw the 7th Harry Potter.....soooooo goooooood!! Can't wait for part 2!! We started listening to the book on our way down to Texas so I know a lot of the story already but we were so excited to see the movie. I have been listening to the audio books on my ipod here at the house and I might have been ignoring my children a little in the process. Almost done with book 3 =) I have been on a Harry Potter craze these last 2 weeks.

Anywho, just wanted to say we are here. I am just feeling blah and haven't had the urge to blog at all lately. I am just trying to get the kiddos all better and ready for the holidays. Brett an dI have to give talks next week in church. Wish us luck. ME mostly...

Thanksgiving In Texas

Going to Texas was great. Getting to see everyone was absolutely wonderful. The week was hectic and busy because of all the funeral arrangements and Thanksgiving dinners, but it was still fun to see glimpses of people here and there. I always leave feeling like I didn't get to do all I wanted to do and go home penciling it in for next time. Something I really missed doing was hanging out with my sisters. I was so busy trying to help my parents and get the house in order.....trying to take any stress off my mom because she had just lost her mom, I forgot to just hang out with my sisters. Now that we are older, we get along a lot better I think =) True for anyone else? I realize they are definitely my best friends and the ones who I will be around with forever so I should jump on that boat and work on getting a little closer with them. Adalie had a blast having my sister's little girl Sophia around every second to play with. Her little cousin Zoe was there a few times too but she got sick during the week so playtime with her seemed to be cut a little short =(The trio all sucking their fingers while watching a movie

Grandpa and Grandmama let Adalie open her Christmas present from them and she was in Heaven!! A trunk full of dress up clothes!! Adalie also gave them their little Christmas presents of sweet treats.haha Love my dad's face

Thanksgiving day was really nice. We had a big dinner with all the Williamson's at my uncle Franks house, and of course I didn't document it with any pictures because I forgot the camera (shame on me!!) Brett made yummy gravy and mashed potatoes (real ones...my husband doesn't take fake ones in a box LoL) and his mom's wonderful sweet potatoes, the only ones I will eat! They were a hit! Nothing left of them by the end of it all....my husband is a wonderful chef. By the way, why is it called sweet potatoes when it is actually made with yams?? Anywho, we went over to my very pregnant sister (due any day now) Heather's house that night for a second dose of turkey and ham with all the trimming and it was great yet again. Good food and Good company. I cannot believe it myself, but I forgot to eat any dessert on Thanksgiving. Who does that?!!? Sheesh....I made up for it the next day with a huge piece of red velvet cake my parents had brought home and some iced sugar cookies. Didn't have pie though which is another shame on me, because Thanksgiving is all about the pie right??It was just so great and I can't wait to get back to good ole' Texas again soon.
