First off, sorry that this weeks blogging is going to be about my potty training experience. lol. It helps me though to write out the woes and excitement of it all.
Well today was much better than yesterday, but we still have some way to go. Only one accident today in panties, which was nice. She did wear a diaper today though with nap time and grocery shopping. But she came home with a clean diaper from the store which was nice. I wonder if she knows how to "hold it"? No #2 yet though in potty. She has had some "issues" with going #2 in the past and we had to do a little miralax kick for a while so I am wondering if she is picking up that bad habit again...which I really hope not.
I am excited I have survived another day of this though. Granted, Brett was home almost all day with us today which was a WONDERFUL treat!! Things always go much better with him around. He keeps me from over reacting and helps me stay calm. Love him.
On other news though, Hello first day of cold in Utah!! It was in the forties today and rainy. I really like the cold and the rain is nice, but I feel sorry for Adalie who is stuck inside even more now when it gets this way. It is going to be a long winter.
We found out some nice news about Brett's schooling. He had an interview with a rep from Ohio and says he is a shoe in!! Woo hoo! They were really impressed with his GPA and says unless he completely bombed his MCAT (which we all know he did NOT, but are still waiting for the score) they would love to have him at their school and even give him a scholarship to get there. Az is still our first choice, but it is nice to know we might not end up in Chicago or somewhere in Cali...both are a little to pricey and city for me. haha.

Day 1 - Intro to Panties
She pee'd through 3 pairs of panties today. I know that sounds like a lot, but not too bad I guess considering the 10 other times she actually WENT in the potty. No poop yet though. We had to put a diaper on when she took a nap and pooped in it right before I could get her to the potty after she woke up. Sneaky girl. She never likes me to see her go "#2", so she always runs out of sight to do it. She ran off and took full advantage of having a diaper on again... ugh. She has already gotten tired of me asking about every 15 mins if she needs to go potty. She has started to say "Don't ask me", but I still do and she always has a very stern "NO" for me when she doesn't need to go.
I can see the frustrations other people have experienced. I am not a very patient person myself so this is going to get rough, I am just trying to calm myself for it. Of course I hate cleaning up pee off of my floor, but hopefully this doesn't last too much longer. Can I hope for a week of stress and then success?? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!

Another New Adventure!!
Today is Adalie's first official day in "Big Girl" panties. We will see how it goes!! Ahhh!! Wish us luck!

I Wonder
A new project for myself...how many days can I go without spending any money? We are stalked on food, milk, wipes, toilet paper, diapers, and laundry DT what else do we need? Bills are paid. I think we are set, so we are trying to see how long we can go without buying anything. LoL Sad that this might be a hard thing for me. haha

Saturday and Sunday
Our weekends around here mean one thing. Football. The season has begun and Brett is already hooked. BYU on Saturdays and Denver Broncos on Sunday, sometimes even Monday nights. ESPN is literally on all day at my house. Or Channel 13 or 2...depends which station has football on it. I forget about football season until fall when it roles around again and I lose my husband in the games. Don't get me wrong, i like watching them too but when it is on ALL day it eats at you sometimes....there is only so many bad sports commentators, screaming fans, and loud noises I can take in one day. So, here is to a quick and exciting football season...I'll see you again in January honey =)

Adalie, lately
Adalie has been extra clingy lately for some reason and I hope it's not because she might be getting sick. Usually when she gets this way, it ends up being just that. We need to go get Flu shots, something I have also wanted to do for the past few days and I just need to do it before it gets to late.
Adalie has discovered two freckels on herself and is obsseded with them. Everyday she makes me point them out to her and check to make sure they are still there.
She isn't falling out of bed anymore with the new rail we put on it which is nice. She can still get out of her bed and sometimes walks herself right into mommy and daddy's room during the night. And she still calls for her daddy most nights too.
She gets her own milk. She used to ask us to get it for her but now skips that step and goes straight the fridge. Grabs the milk, and brings us the jug and a cup.
She is actually eating breakfast when she wakes up in the morning, at least a whole egg for almost a week now. This is a big deal for us considering she eats like a bird most of the time.
When I ask where the new baby is she says "In mommy's tummy. It's cooking"
She loves to vacuum. Her new favorite toy.

Preganacy Moments 1
As I have mentioned many times before, I am still way sick and throwing up all the time. I was sick until 7 mths along with Adalie, so it is really nothing new to me with this little one. I am tired all the time and have no energy, but still nothing new for me either.
Something new, however, that I only had heard about was the uncontrollable bladder situation that some women experience. Well I have experienced it,. This is sort of an embarrassing post for me. I have entered a constant stage of fear when it comes to the thought of peeing on myself!! Gross, I know and sorry if it is a little TMI for some but wow, never saw this one coming. Now when I puke, I sometimes pee. When I laugh too hard, I sometimes pee. When I sneeze, I sometimes pee. Really?? When I sneeze?? sheesh!! I thought one of the good things about being pregnant was not having to worry about pantie liners and such, but we having to "reacquaint" ourselves with one another lately. Fun times. Is it goign to be this way for the rest of the time?!?!

Adventures in a Big Bed Part One
Well, Adalie is out of her crib....well sort of. It turns into a toddler bed, and she is so short I am sure she will be able to stay in one for quite a while. She is her father's daughter though.
Brett was a wild sleeper in his younger days. You should hear some of the stories I hear from his parents about when he was younger and in a big bed. Actually I don't even think it stopped until he went on his mission. And often he reverts back to his unusual sleeping habits in our married life thus far. He always ended up on the floor, across the room, under the bed....just everywhere. Well the same is proving true with our little 2 yr old. I would often find her turned in her crib, legs sticking through the rails, arms hanging out, legs up the wall, and even sitting straight up in bed. I was nervous about the switch although lately she has been doing better in staying in one position so I thought it wouldn't be that bad. She has fallen off every night since Thursday. Her toddler bed came with some rails of its own, one at the head and at the feet, but she is so short she just slips right through the middle!!
Last night I heard a noise, like something had fallen in Adalie's room. I woke up Brett to run in and check on her and he found quite the funny sight. She had rolled all the way to the other side of the room, knocked over the box fan that is on her floor, her hands and legs sprawled out every which way, and all the while she had stayed asleep. Funny girl. Today I had to go and get one of the longer ones to put on the side of the bed. We will see if this works better, otherwise I might just have to put her crib railing back on. And that would be sad. haha

What a Day!!
I am EXHAUSTED!!!! Today we took a trip to the Utah Sate Fair and had so much fun with Adalie there! We got to see a bear show, eat some really good food, see some animals, and ride some fun rides with Adalie. It was so hot!! I loved going to the fair when I was young and Adalie's first trip there was a success. She didn't know what to think about all the things going on there!! All in all it was a really fun day. Even though I probably did a lot more walking around than I should have, it was so nice to get out of the house! Brett made me promise that from here on out I would take my rest more seriously and sit down with my feet up as much as possible. It was fun while it lasted!!
Adalie at the Bear show. She was amazed!! They were so neat! The rode scooters, played basketball, danced, and so much more!!!

16 wks
Well I had a Dr's Apt today and nothing has changed. The placenta hasn't moved yet but the baby is growing and doing fine, which is great news. Today they took the down syndrome and spina bifida test for the baby. I am so glad they have they can take these test but I am always so nervous the couple of ddays after I do the lab work. This is one of the times I really don't want a phone call from the Dr asking me to come in and descuss the test results. I have no idea what I would do. The thought frightens me to death!! I just want a healthy, happy little baby.
The heart rate is at a good and steady 150. I bet it is a boy. I have no idea what I would do with a boy. Another girl would be so much easier I think with Adalie...that is until they are teenagers and hate each other. lol. I remember growing up with three older sisters close in age when they hit 15...wow it was bad!! I just sort of watched on the sidelines never knowing what the big deal was about phone calls and boys but there was definitely something there. haha
Brett took the MCAT!! Woo hoo!! We are so glad that part is over but now we have to wait 3 wks to know what he made. Poor guy will be nervous for the nest month! Meanwhile, he is getting his applications ready and finishing up all his Dr shadowing. It will still be a pretty busy year. It is going to be a fun day when we know what is going to happen!! Can't wait!!
I think Adalie is starting to feel the effects of being inside all the time. Poor thing. I really need to take her out more, especially since the cold weather will be approaching sooner than later. It is just hard trying to get out and since I can't drive anywhere, parks are usually out of the question unless daddy is there to take us. She has been so well behaved though and puts up with a lot from her tired mommy. I am still nauseous as ever but she is sweet and holds my hand when I puke. haha She is a good kid =)

She looks like a 5 yr old in this one!! Definitely not two!!

Thank you so much for looking!!

Summer is Over
School has started. Ugh. Back to 12 hour days without Daddy. I always hate the first week because I have to get used to it all over again. The summer was so much fun!! Camping, swimming, family, Road trips!! I miss them already!! The next big thing to look forward to is Thanksgiving and Christmas though which I am SO excited about. We thought it would be smart and got all of Adalie's Christmas shopping out of the way, minus one or two stocking stuffers and some candy. We get to go home to Texas this year and it will be so much fun!!! I can't wait! Brett meanwhile is preparing still for his MCAT which he is taking Friday ahhh!! (cross your fingers) He is also getting ready for "the hunt" in a few weeks with his family in Colorado. This will be his last year for a bit. No missing med school. lol Hopefully he can get something this time. He says he is due haha
I am feeling better. I am still so tired all the time and have turned into a hermit for the past few days. I have been working myself a little too hard with house work and driving lots, which I am not supposed to do. It's hard not to do anything!! My house gets so dirty!!! Laundry piles up!! Anyway, I have been getting some good sleep in which feels wonderful. I forget how much I love sleep.
