WoW

Adalie. Cut. Her. Hair

Before

After
I knew it would happen one day eventually and it is my own fault for leaving out the scissors where she could climb and get them... I did what I could which wasn't much. It is curly so not TOO noticeable. Next week she is going to her Aunt Monica's house and luckily she is a hair dresser and can hopefully fix it. Until then it is hair barrets and gel everyday

Conversations with Adalie

Adalie was running around under her cover pretending to be a ghost...
Adalie: " You have to say Aaaahhhhh mom and run away"
Me: "Aaaahhhh!"
Then she uncovers her face and is wearing it like a robe...
Adalie" Now I am Jesus mom and you have to come to me."
Me: "Oh ya? Why?"
Adalie: "Because Jesus loves you. And he loves me and is going to come someday and play barbies with me"

Oh out of the mouth of babes....

Big Boy

Cason is just over 3 months and weighs 14 1/3 LBS and is 26 inches long. I did not know my babies could grow this big so fast. That is 2 lbs in 7 days...he will be taller than both his dad and I by his 12th birthday I am sure.

Recalls**

So, in the last two months I have had to take back my Infant and Children Tylenol and our crib was just recalled too. (Tons of drop side cribs are being recalled so you might want to check it out....and ALL Simplicity models) Here is a link to help you find out if yours is on the list..... http://www.parents.com/product-recalls/?ordersrc=google4recall_finder&cobrandId=ww5&s_kwcid=TC|6870|recalled%20cribs||S||3850951468 I have never really been big on recalls, hey you can always find something wrong I guess but Scary thought right?!!? And if they are going to replace the product for me I might as well be better safe than sorry about it later. Brett did point out the good things about it though....at least it was not our child that had anything to do with the horrible cases that they found out these things had to be recalled....we got all of our money back....we get a brand new crib and it is one thing less that we have to pack when we move. Nice.

Boys will be Boys?

Cason has this thing about spitting and drooling ALL the time. It's just like he isn't happy unless there is something running down his face and the front of his shirt is soaked. It's pretty gross...I do not remember my sweet little girl as a drooling machine. I mean this stuff runs down my arm and he gets it all over my face when he tries to love on me. Yucky wet kisses LoL I am constantly wiping his face off and have resorted to him wearing a bib pretty much all day over his shirts.

And, a little random but I cannot decide if my kids look alike. I mean, there are a few similarities but my answer is no....what do you think?

Dieting...

Sucks. That is the only word decent enough to share about how I feel about it all. Oh, and I hate you. I can say that too...

Big Boy

Cason is 3 mths old today, time is going by SO fast!! I am amazed everyday about how much he is growing. Here are his stats: 26 inch long (Adalie was 27 inches at ONE year!!!) and 12 1/2 LBS He still has so much of his hair except it is starting to lighten up to an auburn-ish color instead of black. He coos and laughs all the time and his favorite place to be is in the tub. He is so fun and loves to cuddle and talk to you.

He is just so dang cute...I never thought I could have this much fun with a little boy.

Bed Time

Bed time at our house has been moved back to 8:30 instead of nine....it takes Adalie at least thirty minutes to fall asleep anyways so this seemed to be the best solution. The funny thing about it you ask? It works on all the nights Brett works late. So, Wednesday and Saturdays are no problem days and she is usually asleep for me by 9. When Brett is home though, it is usually a different story and she cries and cries for almost an hour sometimes. I think she is counting on daddy throwing her some sympathy points....

I on the other hand am still going to bed around 12 am.....will I ever learn????

Oh Adalie...

While playing "I got your nose.." with her daddy, Brett switches noses with her. So, Brett now has Adalie's nose and Adalie has her daddy's nose. Well, she had had enough of her daddy's nose and Brett wouldn't give hers back to her. I am in the kitchen and all of the sudden I hear Adalie screaming at the top of her lungs to her dad "I don't want to look like you anymore!! Give it back!!"
Oh Adalie...

Everyday since mother's day she has "written" me a card and has said "Happy Mother's Day". She even says Happy Mother's day to Brett
Oh Adalie...

The song you want me to sing you goodnight every night conveniently is the longest song I know with about 12 verses
Oh Adalie...

I don't know where you learned the phrase "Just one more..." but it is probably one of the most annoying things you know how to say.
Oh Adalie we love you so much.....

Back To Backtracking

A few weeks ago was Women 's Conference here at BYU. My first year was last year where I was able to go with my mother in law and sister in law and it was quite the experience then....My mother in law came down again this year for it and I tagged along once again (thanks again mom!) with a million other women that weekend. It is still a shocking sight to see SO many women packed into the Marriott Center at once!! It was so good though. There are always so many classes I want to go to but you have to be quick to pick out and get to the ones you want. I am really glad they have everything online so I can catch up on a lot of other things I missed. I must say I walked away quite energized and reared up to correct things in life! Thinking about it now, I have fallen behind but I am feeling the same effects I was then and want to be good.

I want to be good and make my home an "apostle Home". My husband is so good and I want to emanate the spirit he can so easily have in everything in our life. I feel so much responsibility for my children's spirituality now since they are so young and I want them to have that armor of God on everyday and know how important the Gospel is in everything. Everything is just so much better when you know someone is there and someone is watching and loving you always. =) Anywho, time to get back on track!!

Quick Update

Wonderful news!! I am VERY excited to announce that Adalie is officially in big girl panties! That's right folks, I finally bucked up and potty trained my kid. She will be 3 on July 25th so atleast I got it done before then lol. She has been great for the last few weeks with it and now we can even go to the store and she tells us when she needs to go potty...I am so proud =). The first two days were really rough though, and it took almost a week to get her comfortable enough to go #2 but now she is doing great! Good Job AddieBug!!

Limited Access

So on an effort to save a little money the two months before we leave, we have canceled our Internet which should save us a little over 100$ and you may not hear from me as much lol. This means I have to find more productive ways to use my time. We make trips to wireless active places about twice a week anyways so we will use it then i guess. anywho, not much has been going on though. mothers day was really nice i got my chocolate and didn't have to clean a mess or change a diaper all day which was actually really great lol. with brett done at byu i am starting to feel the pressures of moving and organizing all over again. we need to get a LOT done. find a new place, switch our insurance over, find a new bank, find a new pediatrician, change my SS card, get my drivers licence fixed, lots of random paperwork to fill out, anniversary, birthdays, and oh so much more i am sure. The countdown has begun....less than 2 mths and we will be on the road!! this is just a quick log in on campuss to keep you updated...i will post more later when i have more time! hope everyone is doing well!!

BigSister and LittleBrother

Well Cason had his 2 mth check up today and all in all it went pretty well. Poor kid had to get shots and cried some pretty hard real tears. He is 12 lbs and 24 inch long! Growing SO fast! Bringing him home barley two mths ago at 6.3 and 19 inch, it seems like he might just be our tall and hefty one. The Dr did notice something though...he has a flat head on one side, I forgot the technical term he used. Cason seems to favor his right side so his head and ear are a little flat in comparison to his left. He gave us some stretches though to do with him and hopefully since we caught the problem early, he won't have to go to physical therapy or have to wear a baby corrective helmet. We will see how it goes and the Dr will check again at his 4mth apt. Meanwhile I have been so paranoid since he said it and have been turning his poor little head all day and holding him with my right arm instead of my left like I normally do.

On another note, it looks like we have started the potty training adventure for reals this time. We have been doing it since Monday and boy has it been an adventure!! We are pretty determined though and have been inside all week just to show how serious we are! You thought I was antisocial before, well now I am sure people don't think I don't exist anymore. LoL It will be over soon though right? I guess she hasn't done too bad thus far but the first couple of days are always the hardest right?? RIGHT?!? Ugh, I need some reassurance haha

A Break

Taking a break from Backtracking....
Adalie was taking a bath the other day and wanted bubbles. Well she put in A LOT and when the jets came on they got even bigger. I think she was a little shocked and maybe even scared because she looked at me with her little worried face and said "I'm Disappearing!!" She has told us also that she is not our little girl anymore...she is Cason's girl.

And Cason has been so happy lately and has hit a growth spurt! He is getting big and chunky and I love it! He is sleeping at least three to four hours at a time which has been heaven compared to his 45 min sleep spurts. He coos and laughs at us all the time and it is so cute. This is the time I really start enjoying babies....he still wants to cuddle but interacts a lot more and it makes things more fun.

I am still waiting for summer to make it final debut here in Utah and have the sun just stay put for some good weather. I need ideas for some fun summer activities. Brett gets to be home SO MUCH this summer and he gets bored doing nothing so we need to find things to keep him entertained LoL

Baby Blessing

Cason Brett Sorensen got a such a sweet baby blessing from his father Brett on Sunday April 25th. Both my dad and Brett's dad wear able to be there along with my bother Daniel, Brett's brother Mike, and our brother in laws Brett H. and Ty. It was such a sweet blessing with sweet promises of charity and service....Brett did a wonderful job and Cason was such a good baby for not crying. lol I think one of the greatest things a Father can do for his children is being worthy enough to use the power of the priesthood to bless their families and give Father's blessings. I know when I was younger I turned to my dad all the time for blessings of comfort and peace and I am so glad I married a man who, through our Father in Heaven, can give our children the same wonderful promises and comforts.
