Boo at the Zoo
Wow! What a day that was! I don't think I have ever seen so many people with their kids in one place...
This past Saturday we all got to go to the utah hoggle zoo! I think zoos have become somewhat of a hobby for Adalie now...She already has three under her belt and isn't even two. I am pretty sure it took me at least ten years to get that and even then I think it was the same zoo every time. lol.
It was a themed day there and all the kids dressed in their costumes and they had little booths for them to go trick or treating at. All the lines were really really long so we didn't stay in too many to get the candy, but we had fun with all the animals!!
This picture is all the kids in their costumes... Emma is Belle, Benjamin is a triceratops eggs, Adalie the witch, and Mackenzie is a care bear....

Chrsistmas Shopping Already?!?!
That's right, I have already started my Christmas shopping. Actually, I started at the beginning of the month and am now almost half way done. Adalie's shopping is done, and so are her cousin's on both sides of the family that she drew for. Mom and Dad's on both sides. Half way done with Brett's too! I know it might seem a little early, but it makes me feels better spending a few bucks a week rather than hundreds at once...
On another note though, my dad is here! Yay!! He has come to pick up my mom and spend a few days with us and I am SO excited to have them both here now. Adalie has been a lucky girl to get to see her Texas grandparents a lot this year, and I always love seeing my parents any chance I get...we miss them a lot. We are excited to do some fun stuff with them while they're here!!

Struggles...
Venting time...
Adalie is absolutely attached to her bottle and hates it when we put her milk in a sippy cup. She doesn't like to eat much, weird considering who her parents are. I worry though because she is so little and such a picky picky eater!! Ugh. She has been waking up the past few nights wide awake around 3 a.m. and won't go back to sleep for like an hour. Nap time has become a knock down drag out fight that takes at least thrirty minutes to even get her eyes to close. So has bed time.
Brett is so stressed about school, poor guy. His football teams are struggling -- BYU had a horrid game and his broncos are not doing to good either. He didn't get to go hunting this year. Poor guy probably won't get to go skiing this year either...
Me. I am getting fat again and that is definately depressing enough in iteself. Sums it all up for me. lol

What a strange power there is in shoes...
This is a very random blog, but I was talking to a friend the other day about collections... I could only think of one that I really have which is collector barbies (blog for another time ha ha), but Brett would say I have two one--barbies and shoes.
For those of you who know me, you might know of my obsession for shoes. I LOVE them and shoe sells make me very happy. Yay for BOGO!! These are some of my collection... I am sure Brett feels my obsession has spilled over to our daughter as well....One of her first words was shoes, no lie. My husband is happy with his three or four pairs, which include flip flops, dress shoes--one black and one brown, and his tennis shoes, oh and his hunting boots he gets to wear one weekend a year.
On one hand, I am excited to share shoe bliss with my little girl as she grows older and learns to appreciate them, but on the other, I understand the worry my husband may feel in his wallet...

Here comes October!!
First off, thank to all those who thought my kids turned out cute with the makemebabies.com activity.... I am still laughing at that.
October has come and given us a little taste of the cold that is to come. I like that is is getting cooler around here but I am dreading the snow this year...I think it is because I am not looking forward to having to bundle Adalie up and take her out into the snow with me. I am pretty sure it will snow on Halloween and have altered her costume to act as thus. Also, there are some crazy drivers when the snow hits! sheesh! Good news though, more excuses for hot chocolate with marshmallows! Oh, and Adalie is liking her fuzzy feetie pajamas...

Body Worlds
So, Brett, Adalie, Mom and I went to the body exhibit on Saturday night. For those of you who don't know what it is, it is basically human bodies skinned and on display. To put it in lame mans terms, what they do it plasticize whatever they want from the body and boil the rest away. What you see is just the insides, like the muscles or veins or blood painted a little to look more realistic. Real bodies though which was a little hard for me to grasp as the real thing because, well I don't know maybe I subconsciously think it is not actually possible to do it?? My husband was in awe the whole time and my mother was a little sick to her stomach I think. Adalie talked up a storm the whole time and I felt a little embarrassed about her being the loudest one in the museum...although do people really have to just whisper in museums, is that a rule? Anyway, I would recommend it for those that don't have weak stomachs....it was actually kind of cool.

A Day at the park!
Tuesday was such a great day!! Jennifer and Daniel came over to play with mom, Adalie, and I and brought along their kids Benjamin, Emma, and McKenzie. We got to go to the park and it was so much fun!! It was a BEAUTIFUL day!!
Fun news! Adalie had discovered how to slide down the slide all by herself.... I know it might not be a big deal to some, but I forget that she is growing up and small things like this remind me.
This is Adalie in her baby guess track suit trying to climb up the slide. You can't see it but it has a shiny cape looking thing on the back that zips up inot a hood. She kind of looks like a super hero when it isn't zipped up...
Great day to add to our memories =)

The Inevitables
The laundry will always need to be washed. The dishwasher will always be full. There will always be little finger prints on all the newly polished furniture. I will trip on toys. The floors will need to be vacuumed. My husbands ties will always be on the closet floor. There will always be one sock without a match. I will have to scrub the toilets. Give baby a bath. Pay Bills. Fix dinners. Change a diaper, and so much more. Things take a while to get cleaned and seconds to get messy. There is always something to do and never enough time to do it. But, having a husband that helps is a life saver and playing with Adalie is a little more important... For now though, some of it is actually done and it makes me feel a little better about life for the moment. Order can be a very satisfying feeling sometimes...

HIGH SCHOOL TAG
I don't know if mine is really all that exciting...2. What kind of car did you drive?: A white geo metro with a red hood. Her name was Lady Liberty. Someone actually hit her and crushed her....then I started driving the family van, a Ford areostar.
3. What is your most embarrassing moment in high school? I fell a lot. Slipped on everything. Broke a lot of stuff when I did. I was a little bigger in High school and was in this play where I had to jump up on this oversized couch and couldn't make it up for the life of me. They had to put a little stepping stool there for me. haha
4. Were you a party animal?Nope. I was always really busy with drama and church stuff.
5.Where you considered a flirt? Not at all....I was the advisory haha. My nickname was "mom" for goodness sake

.
8. Were you on any varsity teams? Nope
9. Did you get suspended/expelled? No. One time I almost got SAC. I skipped class.....and then turned myself in because I felt so guilty haha.
10. Can you still sing the fight song? Oh when those mighty pirates fall in line. We're going fight to win another time. And for those pirates that we love so well, We're gonna yell, and yell and really given 'em woo. We're going to beat those ______(other team name) anytime, everytime, fight, fight, fight.
11. Who were your favorite teachers? Um...Kelly Lyons. A little bit of a perv sometimes but still a fun guy =) and Miss Holman. She was pretty down to earth and helped us with our drama stuff a lot.

13. School Mascot? Pirates

15. If you could go back and do it again, would you? No. I really liked high school, but I was glad to get out.
16. What do you remember most about graduation? I never went to graduation. I graduated early from school and didn't get a ceremony. Don't regret it though.
