More Stuff

I feel like my life has been boring as of late hence my lack of blogging. I live the same routine day after day, with a few fun filled days of Olive Garden in between.
Adalie keeps growing and growing and finds new things to get into or put in her mouth every day. She talks a lot more now, but no one believes me because she never talks in front of other people all that much. She knows what sounds a dog makes and what a cow says. She knows how to use our cell phones, pretty funny to see that she calls random people on our contact list. Her vocabulary consist of huh, momma, daddy, hi, night night, cacka (cracker), side (outside), shoesh (shoes), wow, uh-oh, ouch, coo (cool), paw (grandpa), prezal (pretzel), and lots more jibberish we haven't quite deciphered yet. It is fun.
She tries to run and climb on things and thus falls and has a nice little collection of bruises on her forehead. I am with those other mommies out there who hate meal times. She would live of mac and cheese if she could. She also hates using a sippy cup, another fun project we have been working on with her. It is funny to see much younger kids using them before she has, but being "out done" by others doesn't quite work on Adalie as a tactic to get her to do certain things yet...

Stuff

You know what commercial I hate...the Dixie paper plate commercial. You know, it has that lady running around the yard chasing her kid with a water hose and stops to look at the camera to say "I will no longer be defined by the amount of dishes I wash..." Seriously? Who does that anyway? If that where true, I think I would be in trouble...
Earlier this week I went and stayed the night with Jennifer and mom down in Ogden and it was so much fun! Jennifer's husband is out of town this week so we had ourselves a little girls night with movies, pizza, chocolate, and lots of shopping! It was so fun to just hang out with mom and she is loving her time with her grand babies. Poor dad feels like he is missing out, but he will be up here again by the 10th to get and get to spend a few more days with them before he and mom leave for home, so that's good news.
Oh, I started work yesterday and that was tonz of fun! (Did you catch that sarcasm?) haha. I thought I would be a little rusty and need some practice, but it quickly all came flooding back. Not much to remember really and nothing has changed much, just keep the customer from screaming at you. It is a nice feeling though to be working again for a little bit though. I really like working and it makes me feel like I am contributing to our finances instead of just spending them....It makes Brett feel better too haha

Last night we went to my cousin Alicia's open house here in Utah. I felt so bad about not being able to make her wedding in Texas, but I am SO glad we got to at least see her here in Utah before she moves to California. She looked beautiful of course and Jeff was so handsome. Ahhh, I love the new married look people are trying these days lol

Brett is getting anzy about his tivo...it is supposed to get here tomorrow, but who knows. I am getting anzy to start work...I am supposed to start Wednesday. Adalie is anzy, well for someone to play with.

Today is Sunday and do you know what that means? I get to take a nap! woo hoo! I love sleep...

Good Times!

So mom and dad made it up to Utah a few days ago and it has been so great to see them. Dad drove mom up here to stay for a while since there is no power at home in Vidor. Dad got a plane ticket and left this morning since he has to be back at work tomorrow. He is supposed to come back up and pick mom up when Vidor is livable again with water and power, but who knows how long that will actually be...I have heard a lot of rumors about a lot of different times. But for now, it is nice to have mom close, I miss my family very, very much...
Not too much has been happening here around the house though. Brett is still trucking along in school and I am waiting to start work...next week hopefully. Did I tell you guys about our goal we set together? No fast food until New Years! For those of you who actually know Brett and I, you know how impossible that might be. Believe it or not though, we have made it almost a whole month! Woo hoo! Can I get an air five please? Surprisingly though, it hasn't been that bad, although the craving for a cheeseburger or a pizza still come around midnight. There's been more family dinners around the table, somewhat healthier dinner solutions, and I am improving on my cooking! haha Oh yeah, and money saved, always a good thing. Anywho, continue to wish us luck!

Paranoid

So, a few days ago someone broke into our car and stole my wallet. Although I did get some of it back. The thief actually dropped what was left of my wallet into the outpost mailbox at the post office right behind our house. Brett got a call from a very nice man telling him they found his wife's wallet. See, whoever took it left my drivers license and social security card (I know it shouldn't be in there BIG mistake on my part). They did however get a checkbook and a few cards I had in there (little did they know they were all expired and didn't work anyway haha) . Brett had our debit card and credit card in his wallet, so we got lucky again. Anywho, a call to our bank to cancel our check books and a call to the credit berou to protect my identy got us quickly covered and back to normal again... kind of.
This whole experience has made me quit paranoid. I always think I am hearing noises in my house, and have woken Brett up on many occasions to go and check it out. I put little bars in our sliding windows. The doors are ALWAYS locked, dead bolt and all. I wake up atleast 2 or 3 times during the night with nightmares, and that doesn't count the times I check on Adalie because I think someone is going to kidnap her.... I am really paranoid, and I know I don't really need to be. This is the first time something like this has happened to me though, so the effect it is having on me is interesting.
I hope the $5.00 that was in my wallet was worth it.
