Lady in Red...

Church is one of the only times I can actually get Adalie to dress up and look nice for a few minutes. Ironically, this is her saying cheese while eating cheese.

The Sun is here

The Sun has finally come out to greet us for a few days lately and it has been so beautiful Poor Adalie though, she has been sick and hasn't been able to go out as much. Today she seems to be doing a lot better. He cough still comes on pretty strong at night, but at least her fun little personality is here again.
Brett is done with school and he feels so releaved. I have missed him for the past couple of days since he has been studying and on campus all the time, so it is nice to have him back with us =). Now he gets to stress over his DAT which he takes on May 30th.
I have a question and I need some advice form some of my fellow blogging members out there.
A little over a month ago when I started working 4o hrs a week, a co-worker and I made a little plan together that we would watch each others kids while the other worked. Well, it seemed like a great deal at the time but so far, it has just been me watching hers every day (except Wednesdays and Sundays) and she never watches Adalie. Granted, she is today because Brett picked up another shift at work. Anywho, Brett's schedule has turned out to be completely different from mine so I hardly ever need a babysitter for Adalie at all. I am getting so burned out watching her daughter every day for 5 hrs plus. She is so different from Adalie and cries...a lot. I am not getting paid to watch her either. Her mom also won't leave the car seat because she doesn't want me taking her anywhere in our car. And, I just found out from someone at work that my co-worker, who's daughter I am watching, has been saying some not very nice things about me at work. No clue why, but has been. What should I do?? I mean, I don't feel like the deal is very fair anymore....and I am a little bitter about her saying bad things about me....Am I just being a selfish person??? I need to change something I am doing right??

More Colorado

While we were in Colorado we also went to a place called Royal Gorge with Brett's patents. Probably one of the scariest places for me to go. It is a bridge....a suspension bridge....made with wires...over a HUGE canyon and water. Why is there a suspension bridge in the middle of the mountains in Colorado? Because some man said he could do it and wanted to satisfy his ego.
I hate bridges, especially those over water and especially those being held up by wires. I mean it moves in the wind!! Ahh! We rode a trolley to one side and then walked over the bridge back to our cars. There was a cute little old time town there that we got some fun pictures and video. Everyone was making fun of me because I kept trying to move really fast over the bridge and I wouldn't let go of Adalie even for just a moment. Well at least I can say I did it. It really was in a way amazing and the mountains were so beautiful. It was fun to spend the day with my in laws too!!

We're Back!

Dieing Easter Eggs and Easter Baskets!

Here are a few pictures from the trip! Easter weekend was wonderful!! It SNOWED on Easter Sunday though in Colorado. Of course, I brought sandals because it has been wonderful days before we got there and my toes almost fell off!! LoL Adalie got to ride Grandma and Grandpa's horses with us and loved it. It took her a minute to warm up but as soon as she saw mommy loving on one of them (putting my face close to the horses) she quickly got into the rhythm of things and didn't want to get off! It was so nice to just relax and not have to worry about school or work for a few days..

Getting You Caught Up

Well, I have forgot to mention quite a few things that have been happening lately.

First, I got a promotion. I am sure you are asking, what kind of promotion do you get at Olive Garden? Well, it is actually a GREAT one for us. I am an Ast. Manager for the hosting staff at work. What does that mean? More hours and lots more babysitting basically. I jut have to make sure everyone is doing their jobs and now instead of just 20 hrs a week I am there 40, sometimes 50. Lots of hours I know but it is so perfect for us, especially for the summer. Brett can only work 25 hrs at the MTC anyways, so I will be working the more hours instead of Brett tyring to get a second job for the summer. Oh, and $15 an hr, plus overtime pay sweetens the deal. lol. $16 an hour is a lot of money to Brett and I, especially sense we are poor BYU students. Also, I will be helping open a new restaurant in the next few months near SLC. I am a little scared though. It is a very intense three weeks, 65-70 hr weeks and I have to stay in a hotel the whole time and live off fast food. I have been away from Brett for a week or two here and there when I go to Texas to visit, but never from Adalie. This will be interesting...I feel like this is my time to contribute to our family finances though before Brett starts to take the brunt of it in a few years and we have more babies. It feels good.

Second, Mom and Dad's visit. Too short. They only got to come for a week so they split the days they would be spending between the kids. 2 days at daniels, 2 here and two with Jen. The last were spent with Jennifer because of her new little one's blessing day, which was the whole reason they came in the first place. It was so much fun to see them and I always miss my mom and dad so so much. I can't wait to see them in a few more weeks.

Third, we got a scooter. haha I absolutely LOVE it! 80 miles to the gallon, so its about $2 a month for gas and another $12 for insurance. It is also a second and cheaper alternative to a second car. Brett and I just switch off with each other so that whoever has Adalie is sure to have the Jeep. And it is so relaxing and the weather is starting get get beautiful.... wonderful, it is about time!!

Fourth. We are going to Colorado for Easter weekend!! I am so excited to see Brett's family and take a little vacation. We need the break! Brett is sick of school and I am sick of work. haha

FYI. I lost my camera case and I am pretty upset about it. It has my SD card in it so I haven't been able to take pictures lately. They're all on other peoples cameras. But never fear! Hopefully I will find it soon and will be able to add a little color to my postings again!! We will see you next week!!

Two Kids

Hopefully I didn't fool you into thinking I was pregnant. Not yet. lol

Dirty, stinky diapers smell A LOT worse when it comes from someone else's kids. Haha
I have been helping out a friend of mine form work by watching her little girl for her during the day so she can work. It has been a tough thing to do because

1. Getting two screaming children down for naps is horrible. I pretty much have just been letting them cry themselves to sleep. It is fun to see who will give in first. Sometimes I am surprised lol.
2. Two kids means twice as many diapers. Eeeww. I don't really remember gaggin when I change my own daughters diapers but I don't know whats wrong with me. Whenever it is someone else's kid I literally gag.
3. Sharing. Adalie has become quite possessive of her own toys. It is so weird to see this side of her. She does wonderful with sharing in nursery but at her own home she becomes a big bully! I was thinking of getting some sharing books and videos? We do a lot of time outs lately too...Any other suggestions?
4. Eating time. Wow. I thought finding something to eat for one little picky eater was tough.....now there are two that I have to throw the fridge at.

I admire those of you who have the two or more kid handling thing down pack. haha. One day I am sure I will learn, and I am learning even a little now....but wow. Good job guys and gals!!!
