The past few days have been great weather. And by great weather, I mean the sun is out from behind the clouds and it is in the 30's. Still cold but Better than the bitter cold and snow that always happens here. I never, ever want to live here. The older I get, the more I hate the cold. I could probably stand the Colorado cold but that's as far as I go. It hurts my body. My skin is cracking and flaky all over. I itch constantly. I have to wear socks all the time.....and I hate wearing socks. With a passion. Oh Des Moines, I don't really like you that much but you will have to do for the next 3 yrs....
Did I tell you I got a new calling?? I am a Relief Society counselor. Ya, don't know who was smoking what when they thought to put me there, but for some reason I am there. And totally lost. I went from one extreme to the other. I have been in nursery since our 2nd week here. I don't know anyone except the little nursery kids and now I have to know all the sisters and their needs. I am considering myself highly inadequate for the job, and I am struggling to find the reason why the Lord wants me there. Probably a lot more for me than for someone else. I probably shouldn't admit this out loud, but I am not a big fan of relief society and I think Heavenly Father caught on to it and is teaching me a lesson...and chuckling to himself. =)

I Forget
I was in such a hurry to get out the door and to the store before Brett got home at 5. I had to return a pair of shoes to Kmart I had gotten online within 10 days and it was the last day I could do it so I had to go. I had to hurry so I could come home and get things ready for dinner. I bundled up the kids. Heated up the car. Strapped Cason in. Go back inside to get Adalie. Strap Adalie in. Go back to get my big sweat shirt on and lock the door. I get to Kmart and I am at the service desk when I realized something felt odd.....I forgot to put on a bra. I hurried fast and drove straight home. Good thing I had a big sweat shirt on and hopefully no one noticed saggy susie walking around town. My life is a little embarrassing.

BigSeats
It is crazy to think that this little guy is almost a yr old. Saturday he got to ride in a "big boy seat" He hasn't been fitting in his infant seat for almost over a month now and we finally got the go ahead to put him into his front facing seat. Cason is a little chunker already weighing in at 22 lbs. He is a way happier baby in the car now that he can see everyone and look out the window...
Reminds me that it was once this little girl in the same seat long ago.
So cute that they are growing up....and a little scary

Cell Phones on Sunday
Sunday after the sacrament was passed I had to slip out and run back home. i had forgotten a Relief Society hand out so I left Brett alone with the kiddos at church. I made it home but a trip that was supposed to take 10 or 15 minutes kind of turned into 20 to 30 because I couldn't get the printer to work. Brett got a little worried about me so he stepped outside in the foyer with the kids to call me. Except I didn't have my phone. Where was my phone? In the diaper bag. Where was the diaper bag? In sacrament meeting under our church bench where we were sitting. I had forgotten to turn off my phone. Brett didn't even know the phone was ringing because he was outside. There was no one inside to stop the ringing. What makes this story a little more embarrassing besides a phone ringing during someones talk for about 30 seconds? The ringtone..... It was Honky Tonk ba Donky Donk. The butt song. There is a good side to this story though. I don't think anyone knew it was our phone. The person behind us thought it was his ipod going off so he ran outside to try and stop the ringing from his phone so everyone thought it was his. Haha. By the end of church though the guy had figured out that it was Brett's and came up to him and said, "that was your phone wasn't it? It's ok though, everyone thinks it was mine since I jumped up and ran out. So I covered for you." Brett says I am never aloud to bring my phone to church again. Not even on silent. He also wants me to change my ringtone so no one will ever know it was us.

UpperGi
Tomorrow I am going in for an Upper GI. The colonoscopy didn't really find a solution to my stomach issues so now they are going in from the top! Hopefully they find something....but not something scary. I am sure it will be a great day for Brett though since I will be loopy all day from the anesthesia. Last time I had a four conversation loop with him...."Did you get to study at all?" "Adalie, where are your pants?" (I had taken them off when we walked inside because she got them wet trotting through the snow) "This chicken sandwich is so good" and "Did you eat my chicken sandwich?" I was also convinced I could have driven myself home and Brett didn't have to come with me. We also apparently stopped at the grocery store where I wanted chips and picked out a chocolate covered strawberry. I didn't remember getting the strawberry and told Brett how sweet he was for getting me one that day. Seriously this conversation went on for about 3 hrs and I was clonked out cold for the rest of the day. i don't remember my children. I don't remember changing. I don't even remember making it up the stairs for bed. I woke up around 1a.m. thinking how did I get here??? So, it should be a fun day tomorrow.
We will let you know how it goes....maybe I should try and write a post while I am loopy, that might be a funny one. Ha.

SomeTimes
Sometimes I catch moments where Adalie and Cason really do like each other. I was in the Kitchen making dinner and poked my head into the living room to see this... Adalie was stroking Cason's hair. In primary on Sunday, the teacher asked if the kids had a best friend...Adalie raises her hand and screams out "My best friend is Cason!" I want my kids to be best friends. And even though most of the time they scream and hit and bite each other....I know every now and then I will catch them loving each other.
