The Bank

Every time I pull into the Bank drive through I have a mini heart attack. Why you ask?? Because, no matter how many times I do it, I ALWAYS forget how to fill out a deposit slip or forget how to get cash back and I am afraid of the judging eyes of the teller behind the window....hence why I usually never go straight to the window and I always park at the furthest drive thru thingy. The other day, i was not so lucky because the window teller was the only one open. It took forever to fill out the deposit form, I checked about thirty times to make sure every t was crossed and i dotted, and I am sure the lady was wondering what the heck my deal was. I never made eye contact with her....I was afraid her stare would make me feel stupid. As I slid the slip and my driver's license though the whole, I kept my eyes down and even pretended to talk to Adalie so I wouldn't have to look at the teller while she looked at my slip. Then I heard the microphone crackling
"Hi Mrs. Sorensen how are you?" "I am good thank you and you?" "Great. I'm afraid though I can't cash your check here though as this is MetLife Bank and not Bank of America, that is next door. Would you like to open and account with us today?"

I pulled in one parking lot too soon. Nice one Lydia. Now my anxiety of the Bank increases...

This story made me laugh- probably because I hate going to banks myself- though I haven't had that particular experience yet:)

i pretty much never go to the bank. chris takes care of everything money related (i'm sure there are feminists out there reading this ready to pounce on me) but on the rare occasion that i have to go to the bank, i walk up to the counter and say "hi, i have no clue how to do any of this but i was hoping to [fill in the blank... get money, deposit checks, whatever else you do at a bank]... will you help me?" and then they do it for me and i make a mental note to never go back to the same branch twice.

it's really sad actually.
