Camping

We took a little three day camping trip over the weekend and it was lots of fun! Adalie had a hay day living outside for a few days. She ate pretty much whatever she wanted and got as dirty as she wanted too. She even caught her first fish! It was so hot during the day and freezing during the night....hardly ever a happy medium. We went to a little campground site in the payson mountains about an hour away and it was beautiful. Despite my horrible paranoia of bears sneaking into our camp sight a night, things went great.

I was a little cranky at times (sorry to my poor husband who had to out up with my attitude) but if there is one thing I have noticed about this pregnancy, it is my horrible demeanor at times. I don't remember being this mean when I was pregnant with Adalie. lol.

Joining the Masses

Of Pregnant women! Brett and I just found out we are expecting baby number two come February 2010. It happened a little sooner than expected considering we only stopped "preventing" about a month ago, but I should've learned my lesson with my little birth control baby named Adalie Marie. I am now being refered to in the family as fertle mertle. This time already feels way different though. I am thinking Boy a lot. lol We are excited though, but I am still not used to the idea of two children...I have no idea what I am going to do with myself. lol
I took a test at home with Adalie and had her whisper it to him when he got home from work in his ear "mommy have a baby" He laughed, and said he called it a few weeks ago and was just waiting for the day I would tell him hahaha. Welcome baby number two! Wish us luck!!

Work

Work has been crazy lately. I find myself in a little bit of a struggle with power issues with some of the people I work with. Although I do not have the official title of "sales manager" I am given a lot of the same duties and I am always supposed to correct and observe. When I am not there, I feel like the work doesn't get done right and when I am there, people do what I say, but still mutter about me under their breath. I was talking to another manager friend of mine who tells me it comes with the territory. Someone is always going to hate me and workers hate it when they are caught doing something wrong. No one likes to be in trouble and I am going to have to be a bad guy and deliver it sometimes. It is so easy not to care, but I get so frustrated when my team doesn't.
They want me to go to Manager training school and become a store manager for reals. I was way grateful... but I don't think it is what I really want to do. It is pretty intense long hours. They want a 5 year commitment. One week vacation the first three years. Only Christmas and Thanksgiving day off. They would be sending my to Florida for a while for about 4 weeks of school. Pay is so nice...
I have to admit, looking back on my life I never thought I would have anything to do with a business career. I am so flattered they think of me in that way and love my work ethic, but I just don't know. Always working and being away from my kids is something I do not want to do. I don't have the heart to tell them now, but I don't even plan on being there much longer anyways. With Brett starting Podiatry school soon, he will be gone a lot lot more and it will be impossible for either of us to work....especially the first two or three years. I am trying to prepare myself for being undoubtedly poorer than dirt, but its not going so well. haha
Anywho, I mostly write these blogging post for my own peace of mind, but I thought you would like a little glimpse into what life is like lately here at the Sorensen house. I love working, but I am torn between it and my kids. They are and always will be first. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a stay at home mom and I think thats just what I want to be.

Still backtracking...Anniversary

Please excuse the horrible picture of myself...
June 3rd Brett and I celebrated our three year anniversary. I can't believe it has been three years. Some days I feel like it has been longer, like I never new a moment without Brett in it. Other days, I feel like it just happened yesterday. Brett is just a wonderful man all together. I have said it a millions times before, but I truly believe he is our better half.
Adalie got to spend the night with her Aunt Monica and Grandma and Brett got us this beautiful hotel room in SLC at the Grand America. A King suite room with a gorgeous view of the whole city, I was so surprised!! By the way, our new favorite toy is priceline!! The room is originally $220 a night!!! We did that name your own price thing and got it for $85!! Unbelievable!!
He also got us tickets to the show Treasure Island which turned out to be so good!!! He even snuck out early in the AM before Adalie and I woke up to buy me a beautiful bouquet of roses. I didn't even notice he had gone.

I am so lucky. Considering how short or courtship before marriage was, he could've turned out to be a real psycho lol. But thank goodness he is the wonderful, kind, caring, hardworking, spiritual, handsome man that he is. I love you honey, more than you could even imagine. I would be lost without you, litterally. lol You are an amazing father. A wonderful husband. And my best friend. I am so glad you are mine...forever.

Backtracking...with LOTS of pics

A few weeks ago I got to go and visit my family in Texas. It was a much needed break from work and a wonderful vacation. It was nice to forget about money, cleaning my house, and laundry for a few days. We had lots of fun too and Brett even got to join us a few days as well. Adalie got to help Grandpa in his garden, which is florishing!!! So many vegeatables!! Then Adalie would help Grandmama bag them and put them in the freezer. Mom and Dad went with me to pick up Brett in Houston and decided to stay a few days. We went to the Houston Zoo. This is Adalie's 5 zoo trip in 5 different states. She absolutely loves the zoo. Her little cousin Sophia also got to come which was lots of fun. We got to go to a little waterpark with the whole family on a Saturday and for those of you who don't know, I swear Adalie is half fish. She is fearless to. Always wants to be in the water and try and swim by herself. I have to keep a close eye on her because she scares me with her courage sometimes. All in all it was a really good trip. We painted and rearranged a lot of things in my parents house, and my sister Rebecca took some wonderful pictures of the kids and me in my wedding dress. I will post them soon!! Here are a few though from the trip! Enjoy!!
