Conversations with Adalie

Adalie and I went on a mini mommy daughter date while daddy stayed home with Cason on Thursday. Mall and pretzel bites. While sitting in the food court passing the time away with my sweet little girl, I started to ask her a few questions....
Me: Hey Adalie what do you want to be when you grown up?
Adalie: I want to hunt animals.
Me: You want to be an animal hunter?!
Adalie: (raising her hand to my face trying to swallow her pretzel) Like I was saying, I want to play baseball.
Me: But I thought you said you wanted to be an animal hunter?
Adalie: Come on mother, i want to be a baseball player who hunts animals.

Poor little girl is getting sick. She walked into our room last night and threw up in the pack n play we have set up in there. She had a rough night trying to get back to sleep and is now passed out in her room catching up on her rest. Poor thing. I hope it goes away fast. Nothing worse than sick babies.

Brett has six days left of school. Awesome!!!!

Just a Wet Wednesday

I do not do well with only 6 hrs of sleep....I am an eight hour plus girl for sure. Don't know why I stayed up until 1AM but both my children and I are suffering from the effects this morning. There's already been fussin and screamin. Day isn't even half way through. Hopefully we can all take a nap and calm down a bit. The rain doesn't help. It just makes me even more tired and less motivated to get anything done. Laundry and dishes are piling up. Oh well.

We took Cason to the Dr yesterday for his cough again that he has had for about 2 weeks. We also told her about his strider....inhaling with funny noises. She thinks he might have asthma which is what I ahve been thinking for a few months. Poor kid, that will be no fun. I had quite a few cousins with it and it was horrible when we were little. Dang Des Moines. My children can't handle your weather mood swings....

We watched TRON last night......glad we red-boxed it. Not a big fan but eh, it was ok. You know, its so funny I can love something so much that can cause the most frustration in my life. I am talking about my children. Cason has emptied his bottle all over the floor. Cleaned it up. Then he emptied Adlaie's sippy all over the floor. Cleaned it up. Then he found the diaper rash cream and got it on the floor....and the tv and the entertainment center and his sister. I am pretty sure he ate some of it too....Cleaned that up too and now I am spent! Anywho, today is just a boring day full of motherhood mishaps. It's 9:30 in the AM and I am pretty sure the day has a lot more "fun" things to offer. Like I said though, we all need naps. We will start over again after naps.

Happy Madre Day

Happy late-Mother's Day All!! It was a wonderful Mother's day here...I don't think I had to change a single diaper or deal with a major tantrum all day. Pretty awesome stuff. Brett was so sweet and didn't even study all day. He made me one of my favorites.....his Hungarian Chicken Paprika. I even got to eat a big chocolate cake =) I got a very sweet card that Adalie herself picked out (winnie the pooh) with a sweet message from my amazing husband.

oh, and $100 to whoever guessed what was in the box.....
My wonderful sweet amazing eternal companion got me a guitar. Pressure is on people, its finally time to learn a life long dream. To play good enough that I can sing with a guitar. I already know E F G B C and D....watch out world here I come! =)

p.s. My fingers hurt.....(cue Happy Gilmore quote haha)

A Friday

Today Adalie saw a huge rock and said....and I quote "Holy Frijolis (sp) That is a HUGE stinkin rock!" haha sometimes I can't believe she is only three. The weather has been amazing and it is also garage sale time around here in West Des Moines. Seriously, probably one of THE best places with awesome garage sales. We found tons of clothes, an extremely nice traveling stroller, and some winter boots for Adalie for next year. Walked away spending 14$. Completely awesome. I am so excited for garage sale season. Seriously you have no idea. Another mans junk is another mans treasure!! Totally true!

Brett started his vale job here at the golf coarse we live next to. He gets to drive some pretty neat cars we could never dream of owning. And they throw money at him to do it. Another awesome thing happening in our lives lately =)

There is a huge box that arrived today but I am not allowed to open it. It's my mother's day gift. Any guesses????

On and is there anything sexier?? A man vacuuming your floor for you....with his shirt off. Beautiful.

TBall

Forgot to mention....We just signed Adalie up for T-Ball!!! Woo hoo!! Little does she know Brett and I have pre decided her choice of sports activity. Softball and Volleyball....maybe golf =) I am so excited to see her play sports!! We have been waiting and waiting until she was old enough to get her into a little league and now with her turning four in July she can be!! Oh and don't worry she is pretty excited too. Now we just have to figure out if she is a righty or a lefty when it comes to the game. Daddy would be pretty excited to have a left handed pitcher, but I think he was hoping it would be his boy. She does everything with both pretty well so we'll see how it goes. T Ball will also help her shed off the winter weight we all seemed to gain around here.....now Brett and i need to find an adult league

The weekend.

Saturday was such an awesome day!

Brett took me to go see Les Miserables in Omaha and it was absolutely wonderful. You always hope they will change the parts where everyone has to die, but never happens =) This show gets me every time. It was my 5th time to see it. The first time was when I was 12 and I was amazed how much I loved it even then! This however was Brett's first time to see the traveling Broadway company preform it and he was blown away (as he should be). The saddest part though was one of our favorite characters' Epnonine (sp?).....the girl just didn't have a very strong voice and I was a little upset! Anywho, it was such an awesome day! This was our first adventure out where the kids had to stay with someone other than family, but thanks to our wonderful Tidwell friends, we got to enjoy our 9 hour, kid free date! She even took care of our sick little Cason...they are so good to us!

Sunday Brett stayed home with our sick little puppy (cason because of his sick bark) and Adalie enjoyed a wonderful sunday at church. When we came home, we went for a nice little family walk to get the kids some Fresh warm air. When we came inside, we let Adalie play with her chalk on the back porch....a little while later Brett sees Adalie leaning against our gate with her pants down about to pee in the grass. She said she had to go!! I hear of little boys doing this often but I have to worry about Adalie doing it?!?!!? Sheesh!!

Well today is Monday and Adalie and I are enjoying a little sun while little brother naps through his sick. It's nice out here, could be a few degrees higher and a warmer breeze but not too bad considering what we just came out of! I am so excited for summer....Brett is done with 1st yr in THREE WEEKS!!! AWESOME!!Ugh Adalie's pants keep falling down.....she has a consistent plumbers crack these days. I guess it is time to move up to a new size the only problem is, her tummy gets keeps getting bigger but her little legs are still so very short. Someone today asked if she was a 2 yr old. Nope, she is four. Well almost. Holy cow she is almost four?!!?
