What Else?

We had an anniversary!! June 3rd, the Sunday Brody was blessed actually (awwww right?), Brett and I made it to our 6 yr mark of eternity plus =)

Family was in town and it was on a Sunday so we didn't really celebrate on its actual day, but the next day. We went to Adventureland ( a local theme park here) and spent the day riding rides and acting like a bunch of teenagers. It was pretty awesome. I LOVE going to theme parks and I love that my husband loves it too.

For any of you that have the absolute pleasure of knowing my husband, I do not need to convince you at how amazing he is. The more we are together, the more I know that there could have been absolutely no one else in the world who gets me like he does. I know he loves me. I know he will always be there for me. I know he would do anything for me. I know he feels the same way about our beautiful children too. I could not have ever imagined a better man. He is a wonderful father. A man who loves and lives the true gospel of Jesus Christ. Knows the importance of family. Dedicated to his education....Oh the gush is just flowing!! Sheesh!

One of the first times Brett and I had ever hung out, I barely remember. I had just had my wisdom teeth taken out. My cousin Johnny came over with his new roomie Brett who was a fellow missionary in Hungary with him. The brought Moster's Inc. I was passed out within seconds of the opening title, but they stayed the whole time. They were on shift I think to make sure I didn't die. That, however dear children is the moment Brett probably fell in love with me. My swollen cheeks. My drooling. Possibly even my beautiful snore. I was pretty dang irresistible and he knew it.

Want to know what I remember about the day we got married? Besides the heat, my horrible hair or you stepping on my wedding dress and ripping it a little in the ceiling room....I remember I made the best decision of my life and how in love I was, and still am, with you and only you.

Brett-I love you more than air, to the moon and back, than a fat kid loves cake, than a dog loves his bone, than myself, than stars in the sky, and every other cheesy or funny line you can think of out there.

Brody's Baby Blessing

3 is my limit for today, I promise.... (there are two more post before this one from today just in case you haven't scrolled down yet and are interested)

My parents, my in-laws and my brother in law Mike with his two boys Jayden and Seth were here for the 2 mins in took to bless our baby boy Brody Vance Sorensen.  I am so grateful they came all this way to be apart of it. My husband did and amazing job for the little of the blessing i got to hear....I was on Cason duty who screamed as soon as dad got up to go bless Brody. I was hanging out in the back soothing Cason. I am kicking myself in the pants for not getting a group picture afterwords, but I had to Rush to do primary and Brett had to go teach his class. My mom wasn't feeling to well so dad took her home, and the in laws went back to the house too with mike and the boys. We did get a couple of family pictures though that at least turned out.

Before I forget

So this is out of order in the events we have experienced lately but I had to write it down before I forget...

Brett is out for summer break....ish. Studying for a big test, so he is till gone from time to time but it has been wonderful to have him close. I have been spoiled with the time he gives us. I am one lucky girl I tell ya...

Brody Man is 4 mths old and a fatty fat =) He has an apt Monday but this kid could could eat 24/7 if I let him.

 Cason wants Brody to go with him everywhere and wants to hold him all the time. Their friendship is budding like crazy. Cason can also make Brody laugh out loud like crazy at any moment.

 Adalie looked over at me sitting in the rocking chair with Brody. She had put a hat on the back of the rocking chair and thought she was being sneaky. I casually lifted my hand and flopped the hat off the back of the chair without moving my head or eyes from the tv in front of us. She didn't say anything until she sat on the couch next to the rocking chair then looked at me with her little hand on the chin and said "When I am a mom will I get eyes in the back on my head too?"
 

What we've been Up to

So where have we been?? Let's start at the beginning...
My mom and dad came into town on the 26th of May and that's just about when i lost my blogging desire. I soaked up every once of family moments and picture taking i could. I thought the whole time, oh i should blog about this before i forget...So, we will see what details i can remember.

 Mom and dad went with us on a little mini family vaca to Mall of America, so we'll start with that. We stayed in this really cool hotel that had a water park inside and the kids just loved it.
 
 

 We stayed late the night we got there and woke up early to go again. We then headed out, we went right next door to the Mall of America where we pretty much spent a lot of time at the indoor nickelodeon theme park.
 
Kids had a blast. It was fun to watch. Mom and dad spoiled the heck out of them with all day wrist bands for all the rides and even took them to the aquarium which is also inside the mall.
 
Adalie is fearless when it comes to rides.

 
She wanted to ride them all by herself, no matter the twist or turns it might have entailed. Of course her 41 1/2 inch self couldn't meet the height restrictions for most of the thrilling ones, but she still went on whatever they would let her! One of the rides was a wonder pets fly boat ride. It takes you up in the air and "hops" you down, does that makes since?? It doesn't  just fall straight down, kind of pulses. Adalie of course wanted to ride and Cason was wanting to follow. He was about a half an inch too short but really wanted to go on the ride, so the lady said if it was ok with me, he could go. Ok- anyone who might know Cason should know he is kind of a scary cat when it comes to heights so we thought this might turn into a disaster but went ahead and let him go. Oh wow...I probably looked like the worst mother ever as i stood there laughing so hard that my eyes were watering while Cason was hyperventilating and looking as if he were going to puke at any moment.
 
He cried and i laughed....I know I am absolutely terrible. Oh and when Adalie got off the ride my mother leaned over to ask"Did you notice Adalie had had accident in her pants?" What!?! i asked her when she peed in her pants and she said "while I was on the ride" Ugh. We walked away very slowly, bought some new clothes in the mall, changed, and noticed as we passed later during the day that her seat had been "buckled off" so none else could ride it. Sorry about that...

All in all, our little get away was way fun and with good company. My kids do horrible in hotel rooms. Cason barely slept so he was a pill all night and Adalie fell off the top bunk. Her dad did however chill with her in the hot tub for a bit the next morning to make her back feel better =).

/since I am sure you have all been sick with worry as to where I have been, we are here. In Des Moines. It's been so busy and I have so much to post and so many pictures to share, but for now I am trying to get things back to normal. Laundry, cleaning, and nap times back on track. =)
