Omaha part II

Okay! Sorry this took so long to get out -- our house is still infested with sickness ....

So part two of our Omaha trip. After that horrible first day which didn't end TOO terribly bad with pizza and a movie,we tried to get some sleep. Cason and Brody didn't do too hot waking up a ton during the night but hey, what did I expect from all 5 of us in the same hotel room?? On one of those happy occasion at 2 a.m., Cason woke up wanting juice...from the lobby. (this hotel room gave away unlimited juice and cookies...my kids thought it was the best thing ever) So to prevent him from waking everyone else up with his "I want juice" tantrum, he and I causally took a 2 a.m stroll to the lobby to fill up his sippy with juice (half water- don't worry). .

Well the next morning, we ate a free hotel breakfast and packed up the car to head out for the children's museum for an hour or two before we went to the zoo. Best part about it -- we get in free with our science center and annual zoo pass. Kids had a blast with all the fun things just there size. There was this weird drink guy.....i think his name is agua?? You know, to promote drinking water instead of juice maybe? I don't know though....seemed kind of creepy. Anyway, the huge ball room was a hit! Balls everywhere!! We skipped right passed the art room since our kids tend to make a major mess with paint and I wasn't in the mood to clean up a major mess. After about and hour and  half of all the fun we could stand at the museum, we headed to the zoo. Side note- Cason had been talking about the zoo NON stop since he found out we were going that Wednesday. He was convinced that every time someone left the house, they were going to the zoo without him and he would get VERY upset! here is a million pictured from that...

pretty sure the little grocery store was their favorite part.
 weird drink guy...
 they made a giant pizza

The Zoo!! This isn't Cason first trip, but it was his first trip where he was actually aware of what was going on. He FLIPPED out over seeing all the animals and wouldn't stop screaming with excitement about every animal he saw. Even the mocking birds or whatever they are that just fly around the park that we see every day out in the real world...FLIPPED OUT he was so stinkin happy.

this duck would try and bite at cason through through the glass...maybe because they matched??
Cason started out on this pretty cool ion next to Adalie.
Then made daddy switch to the bench. Cason is a sissy really...
petting/brushing the goats are always a must at the zoo
Brody's first petting zoo. didn't like it too much
 We LOVE the aquarium!!

So if you made it this far,I hope you enjoyed the pictures from the good part of the trip!! It was a fun family vaca!!

Omaha -- part Uno

We decided to take a little trip down the road (2 hrs) to Omaha for a mini vacation this last weekend. Now, first you must know that the intentions of this trip started off very great.....It was supposed to be our monthly temple visit. The original plan was for another couple to join us, visit the children's museum on Friday, stay at the hotel while one couple goes to a session, wake up in the morning other couple goes to a session Saturday morning, and then we all go to the zoo. Great plan right?? This way we could watch each others kids and also have some fun with the kiddos and great company since we would be in Omaha. Well, life happens and things usually don't ever go as planned.... The couples that were going to join us both couldn't make it. Friday, Adalie didn't have school so she and Cason were at each others throats all morning causing whatever trouble they could. Brody has been super clingy and would not let me put him down for more than ten mins at a time. When I finally got him to sleep, he slept for almost an hour as apposed to his usual 2 1/2 to 3 because.....you guessed it - the fighting between Adalie and Cason woke him up. Brett had clinic until 12:30 so i was trying to get the car all packed and ready, which was nearly impossible to do, so we could head right out the door when he got home. Well because real life was happening, I think we made it out the door close to 2 -- with my bad mood in full force.

We got to the Omaha children's museum at around 3:40. Got all the kids out and the stroller packed and ready to go inside where the clerk proceeded to tell us they were closing in 15 mins. You know, because it makes since to close a CHILDREN'S museum at 4:00 when CHILDREN get home from school at 4:00. So - no children's museum. Anywho, what was the plan now? Idea- the hotel has a swimming pool so lets do that before the 1st session starts at 7:30. Problem - I forgot every ones swimsuits. Solution- lets go to walmart and grab some swim stuff because it is all on clearance anyhow. Oh, and Adalie could use some new pants as she had diarrhea and had a messy accident in the bathroom...which some of it got on my boot. Well, 33$ later with the tackiest swim gear ever- we are ready to get to the hotel and go swimming. Whilst getting ready though, I notice the swim shorts I bought might say large on the hanger but are indeed a 3X tent for my bottom. i can make then fit right?? I have a safety pin....oh my heck was I wrong. Its a good thing we were only family in the swimming pool because I was pretty close to losing my swim trunks ever two seconds and my old woman flowery tank top with a pink sports bra underneath was holding things up too terribly well either. BUT the kids loved it and it was fun to see them so happy. Brody was having the time of his life and kept trying to get away from us thinking he could swim on his own.

After our lovely swim, the plan was to order pizza while one of us went to a session. Ugh, shameful and you will think we are terrible but it didn't happen. Is was turning out to be quite the fun night just relaxing in the hotel room with the whole family, eating some pizza, chillin in our pj's, and watching a movie. And after a not so good night of sleep, I didn't go in the morning either. We tried to sleep in, enjoy the free breakfast, and make up for missing the children's museum yesterday and go right when it opened at 9 and then off to the zoo at eleven.

And this is where i will leave part one...or as i like to refer to it "the almost bad part" of our trip. Better part coming tomorrow...with cute pictures.

I remembered....

that other thing i was going to blog about so i should do it now before I forget again. Although, I will remember it every night around bedtime. So, fact about me and my babies...I am extremely paranoid about them sleeping in their own rooms. It always takes me a while to move my newborns into their own rooms. With Adalie it took me 11 mths to move her out of our room. Cason it took about 6 months. Well, last night we moved Brody into his own room. He is 8 mths plus some days.... I know, i know i am a sissy. This is another annoyance Brett puts up from me. I have no idea why I decided last night would be a good night to do this. He is sick so i am worried and sleepless already....and add him in his own room where i can't see him when my eyes open? I mean GOO, what was I thinking?? This is in hopes that after he is sick we can start the tough lovin of letting him cry it out. He still does not sleep through the night and has not ONCE slept through the night since the day we brought him home. I think the most he has ever gone is 5 hours...and usually its 3 if we are lucky. Ugh, terrible. He is our worst sleeper yet. AND he has this thing for not wanting his dad during the night....only his mommy. Double ugh.

Good thing he is adorable

Sick

I am so behind...there is lots to post about but for now, my house is infested. All the boys are sick.....and Brett is included in the all boys here at our house. Bad coughs, runny noses, and soar throats. I am sure Adalie will follow the trend soon. I am hoping I miss it. We'll see. Brett helped me do a mountain of laundry yesterday and clean the house. It is on its way to beautiful. I sort of had a meltdown with how bad I let it get around here. I am learning I am in a MUCH better mood when i am not surrounded by dirty things. My husband is amazing for how much crap he can put up with from me. I am crazy. Seriously insane sometimes and so hard to be around.

Post to come soon....We got a new Car, Omaha, and something else I already forgot about....huh, hope I remember!!

Telling Stories

So, just some random stories from the past few days.

I got new tennis shoes!! Woot, woot!! A great perk of being married to a foot Dr. is a HUGE discount on good shoes. =) Just in time for my "Lydia needs to be sexy" change. Brett got his two...pretty dang awesome. It actually makes me want to try running again, but ya we will see about that one.

Brett's

The other day I was talking to Brett about switching my birth control option (sorry if that's tmi) I have yet had my body react well to one yet....Brett said "You should just go back to the pill" and I said "The pill scares me. We got pregnant with Adalie on the pill and what if I forget to take it??" (I am horrible about remembering to take medicine) and then Brett says "Just put it somewhere wear you will see it all the time, every day...you know like the fridge" After that comment, I might have thrown my handful of trail mix I was eating at the time at him from across the room....and then laughed hystarically.

I left a bag of sugar on the floor in the grocery bag yesterday. It had opened a little and fell over on the floor. I didn't notice this until Brody was right up on it eating all the sugar off the floor. Happy as could be.  Brody's first sugar rush....awesome.

We went to the park last night while Brett was working late. It was Brody's first go at the swings. He loved it and laughed the whole time.

Adalie loves the swings too. Cason, not so much. It terrifies him for some reason.

Today Cooper (our dog) found a big spider and tried to eat it. The spider started to crawl all over his face which made Cooper freak out trying to get it off his nose. I was already freaking out because I didn't want Cooper in all his thrashing around to sling the spider across the room. I was screaming "NO! Stop Cooper! Let me get a shoe!!" Cason was ready with is own shoe and pounded that spider into the ground when it flew off Cooper's nose.
