This, among other ridiculous fights, I am privileged to hear almost everyday at my house, usually when they're supposed to be eating breakfast...I wish you could read the tones in their voices....
Adalie: Dad! How big is a chicken!?!
Brett: I don't know, this big? (holding his hands to an appropriate size of a chicken)
Adalie: See!?!
Cason; Well, what about a BABY chicken!?!
ok, that one was a fair question I suppose..
The other day it was How big is Mickey Mouse? or Does Santa's sleigh bells Ring or Ding? Cason has entered the phase of ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING being a race. Putting on jamies,, finishing breakfast, getting their shoes on....and he is NOT a gracious winner. Anything Adalie says, Cason will say the opposite just to disagree and start a fight. I am pretty sure this kid was put on this earth to test my patience...and I feel like I lose quite often. Sheesh kid! I love ya, but you my dear are literally giving me my grey hairs.
The other day, Brett was taking out the trash. As he was tying up the bag he says to Adalie...
Brett: Man Adalie, what did you and mom do without me for all those months!?! (in a joking sort of tone)
Adalie: (thinking it over a bit) Fight.
Nice to know our time together was precious.
We do fight, probably a lot and she knows it. But, it is sweet to hear her say at the end of the day that even though families fight a lot sometimes, we still love each other lots more.
More Adalie-isms....
Adalie: It's hard being a mom and dad huh?
Brett: Yes it is Adalie
Adlaie: Well, its even harder being a big sister you know...

All is right...
..in the world, at least for the moment. My hubby is home after 6 months away from home. I am such a big baby the whole time he was gone, but I am SO happy he is back. I cannot believe there are single parents out there who can do so well!! Or army wives...man y'all are amazing!! Anywho, I have oh so much to catch up on with blogging. My hubby even got me a new computer (which should be here very shortly woot, woot) and I promised i would blog all the time. So look out people, (or anyone who even bothers with this thing anymore) you're about to get so annoyed with all the stuff I have to post about!!

He CAN talk...a little
Man, its been a really crappy two weeks. Sick kids, dirty house, no husband, and junk food all around! However, I should document...
Brody had a well child check up on Wednesday. Poor guy got 4 shots, which is where his fever came from....hopefully. Anywho, It was his 18 mth check up, but we are 2 months behind, so 20mths.
26.6 lbs
34 inches
I always forget the questions they ask....Does he shy away from noises? Does he make weird faces? Does he do unusual hand movements with his fingers to his face? Does he sleep through the night? How is he doing with a sippy (as he has a bottle in his mouth uuuhhh...)? Can he crack a safe?? You know, questions like that.... Let me tell you a secret Doc, by the 3rd kid (and this might make me sound like a terrible mother) I kinda lose track of those silly questions. I AM however keeping them out of the "poison cabinet" and the medicines up high and I feed them, so technically, i AM doing an awesome job i think! This time when he got to the...Can your toddler say 20 words question, i started to tell him the ones he says....and here is what came out of my mouth...
Dr = What can he say? Me=Umm, mommy, daddy, baba, ball, night-night, milk, bobo (thats a boo boo for some however i say Bo-Bo), shoes, boobies, bra....
Dr gives me a strange look and that's when I realize I just told him my 18mth old says boobies and bra.
Next question please!!!
Brody, bubby, Brod-ster....you my dear are quite the little handful. We thought we had our work cut out with us with Cason, but you have quickly mastered the art of little boyhood. You keep us on our toes and are still so lovable and cute. You definitely are your daddy's child with that blonde hair and blue eyes, but you've got your mommas smile and dimples! We love you buddy, your personality makes us laugh...and sometimes cry, but mostly laugh. You crack yourself up even, laughing all the time at your own jokes and funny business. You are one not to be messed with and can stand your own ground! Love you so much buddy....
.....except i don't kinda like you right now because you're throwing your pizza all over the floor and wall.

Halloween Activities
Despite these last 2 weeks being absolutely terrible - croup, diarrhea, vomiting, fevers, and FLU!!- we did manage to do our yearly tradition of painting pumpkins with the kiddos for H-ween! It was great. We even had Brett skype in with us for a quick FHE lesson and he got to watch the kids make a mess...um paint their pumpkins.
hehehe...surprised i actually pulled this picture off!
That's Daddy on the Computer!! Yay!!

This being Brody's first year, he actually caught on quickly and I was very surprised that he didn't stick the paint brush right into his mount. He did make out with his pumpkin a little when I asked him to take a picture for me, but he had a great time i think.
Cason, who is currently battling the flu, thought it would be funny to give it a little kiss too. Poor kid was miserable the whole time, but I think he had some fun.

Adalie was trying to act all grown up and like it was no big deal she got to paint a pumpkin. BUT that quickly changed when she saw i got sparkly paint. Then the squeals came one cue!
It was messy. It was fun. I am glad I covered my table in newspaper!!

Pumpkins DONE! Next Monday fhe...caramel apples! Yum!

He was so sick...I think this was about the time he had a 103 fever! Not cool at all!
