Besides it being Football season in our house it is also Hunting season. Every year around this time my wonderful husband goes with his Dad and Brothers (no girls allowed) deep in the snowy mountains of Gunnison, Colorado for a few days to shoot some Elk. It is well below zero out there and they are surrounded by snow. This has been a tradition in the Sorensen family for almost 20 yrs - a tradition my husband has only missed twice...when he was on his mission. This year is his last year to be able to go for the next four years though because of medical school, which you just can't miss 3 days of. Brett will be leaving early Friday morning and coming home on Monday. It is a quick trip this year due to a heavy school load, but I can't say that I mind. I just worry the whole time he is gone and think the worst has already happened since they an hour away from a phone Zone out there. He is so excited though about the break and spending some time out in the wilderness. i just don't think I will ever understand the fun of a cold, snowy, hunting season. It has definitely got to be a boy thing. I love that my husband is a wonderful mix of Broadway, Music, Football, and Hunting.
Adalie and I however will just be hanging out all weekend waiting for daddy to come home safely. And maybe a little shopping.

Hunting & Football! You have a manly man on your hands!!! Does he bring back meat? I bet it is delish!
Hey! We have a bunch of elk in our freezer that one of Dave's clients gave us. I had never cooked elk before, so I went recipe hunting. So far I've only tried one: Onion Elk Roast Stroganoff: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Onion-Elk-Roast-Stroganoff/Detail.aspx
I used cream of celery soup instead, but it was absolutely delicious. :) happy elk cooking!
