Adalie

She can be super sarcastic sometimes and I forget she is only 4. The other day Brett was checking me out (not that way in a Dr. way hehe) I said something along the lines of "Are you sure blah blah blah..." and Brett says jokingly "Trust me, I'm a Dr." Adalie perks up from the table and says in a very matter of fact, excuse me while i correct you kind of way "ALMOST a Dr...."

She is muttering things under her breath lately and this one was a reality check for me. For those of you who have the pleasure of knowing our little tyrant Cason, you know there is absolutely nothing quiet about this kid. He was creaming about something as usual and I screamed back and said "Stop Screaming!" Adalie apparently recognized my oxymoron moment and said in her own quiet whisper not meaning for me to hear "well maybe if you didn't scream he wouldn't scream. duh" Ok I get it now, it probably is my fault that Cason screams from time to time. Let's work on changing that one shall we??

She wakes up every morning and usually walks into my room and ask if she can go to the living room to watch cartoons. She has become very handy with the netflix remote and knows how to do it all by herself. Probably a sign they watch too much of it. I also harmonize to all the songs associated with Dora the Explorer....another example of too much TV in our house. Anyway, this usually gives me a half an hour, sometimes even an hour, to stay in bed. Kind of nice sometimes.

She is a really great big sister who puts up with a lot of crud from her little brother. Although, I think she is starting to see that she can blame things on Cason now and he is not able to defend himself as his vocabulary is still somewhat limited. "Who was playing in the water??" "Must have been Cason" (the bathroom door was locked and cason does not know how to unlock it) "Where is the remote" "Ugh Cason probably lost it". "Didn't you already have a cookie Adalie??" "Cason took it and ate it and I didn't get any (said with chocolate chip still visible on the corners of her mouth)" What happened to this lamp?!!?" "Cason probably broke it" (he had been napping for the last hour and I heard the crash....while he was still sleeping)
We are working on telling stories around here...

Oh Adalie. I have nightmares of your teenage years. I will, however, love you despite them. =)
