Remember when....

.....I thought it would be a good idea to shave the dog? i mean, how hard could it be? I have an old pair of clippers and I can save us 40$ and we will just have to get him groomed again in like two months anyway....so hey! Let's do it!!

EEEEEEHHHH!!! WRONG ANSWER FOLKS!!!
Lots more hair than anticipated. Dog Hair Everywhere!! We now have enough hair to make a small woolly sweater. Or maybe a taupe for Brett, but I can't get him to give a go on that one. Not a good idea to do it on the front porch on a windy day in Iowa. Again, hair everywhere. Poor dog. He is now the ugliest little thing. Like so ugly, its almost cute- but still way, way ugly. I did a terrible job and Brett wouldn't even try to touch him with the clippers. I was laughing so hard towards the end, I couldn't even see straight. He has bald patches and razor burn all over. Nothing is nice about his hair cut. I could blame it on the kids and the whole world would believe me. Cooper hates me.....even more than before.

So, next time i decide to shave the dog the dog myself - i will remember this day. I under estimated the quality of a dog groomer. It takes a skilled hand. I now don't mind paying a groomer every 3 mths to cut my dogs hair. But hey, at least I can mark "to shave a dog" off my bucket list eh?? You know, because its on everyone's yes?? We bought him a sweater so the other dogs wouldn't laugh at him and Brett says he's not aloud out of the house for walks for like two weeks. Poor dog. Poor, very, very ugly dog....

I just died laughing again because I pulled up all of the pictures we took. You should see him in person running around this house. Pathetic really. I have a feeling this will be a laugh out loud moment for our family for years and years....

Let's See...

First things first....Is that hamster thing really working for your advertising KIA??? Seriously, am I the only one who is completely annoyed by those stupid hamster commercial for a car?!!?

Ok, so remember when I said I was doing all that good for me stuff last week?? Okay, super bad week to start that so I am a go ahead for tomorrow. The boys had hand, foot, and mouth. TERRIBLE. This was our first experience with it and it was exhausting. Brody was about a 3 day lag behind Cason, so as soon as Cason was starting to seem a little normal again, Brody brought the bad right back into the week. Anywho, I indulged. Chocolate....chips...energy drinks...midnight munchies...lots of couch sitting and no workouts. None. At. All. Probably gained the 6 lbs I was super excited about losing a few weeks ago but i will not get on the scale because I know they are back. I can feel it in my muffin top. I mostly spent the week feeling sorry for myself and yelling a lot at everyone. So, excuses out the wazoo of why I didn't do it, but my wazoo is still fat so I need to get on that sexy train again...woot, woot!!

But just so this post isn't all about me feeling fat and doing nothing to fix it -- We Did venture out a few days ago to the Science museum which was fun. We were the only ones there for almost an hour - seriously maybe 2 or 3 other kids. It was fun. We just let Brody crawl around in the big kid science room and we played with everything. We headed into the....crap whats it called?? dark room with the screen for a ceiling??? the imax?? the dome room? Those sound right?? Anyway, I am sure you know what I am talking about....We were actually pretty excited for the show since it was supposed to be about Mars, but it ended up being the wrong title outside the theater and we watched the Iowa skies again. Its okay, but we had seen that one before and were really, really excited about Mars. It was a great, spur of the moment family fun time. And we got year passes this year to the zoo and museum so we can go for a quick trip anytime. here are a ton of pics from that

haha brett and cason were wearing green shirts so it looked very amusing against the green screen

These past 2 weeks have been color celebration at Adalie's school. Her favorite day was Yesterday. It was pink day. i had to get a picture of her in all of her pinkness. She refused to wear anything but those scuffy pink boots. They have gotten a lot of love from Adalie, one of her favorite pairs of shoes yet

Oh, and this is what happens when I try and get a picture of all 3 of my kids smiling at the camera at the same time.

this was the best one out of like 10.

And seriously, I may be a little biased, but Brody is adorable.
He reminds me so much of Adalie when she was a baby....long eye lashes and big blue eyes.
 Brody 7 mths

Adalie 10 mths

Man we make some good lookin kids honey...

challenge accepted

September 12. Today I am making a goal -- 15 LBS by December 10th. If I can do that then I am 20 from my ultimate goal. I can do it right?!!? No sugar. Sad -- I love sugar. No night time snacking -- I love my nighttime junk food. Working out -- I despise it, but I must do it. I have been doing a butt workout every day for a week and a 1/2. Today is the first day I don't hurt. One day I will have a firm Brazilian butt-x. I will never have a flat tummy. My body just won't do it. BUT I can be a little healthier and I want to feel good about the way I look. I have been in a woe is me I am so ugly stage for like....2 months now. DONE! There is nothing wrong with wanting to look and feel sexy....and its time to get my sexy on. First Challenge....

Accepted. Not really thinking I will lose 20 lbs in 30 days...but hey 5 or 10 would be AWESOME!! So Let's do this...Jilliian I am ready for you to kick my trash.

Did I forget??

This little man turned 6 mths!! Brody is crawling...backwards a lot and mostly army crawling but he can book it!!! He has 4 teeth, 2 bottom front and his 2 top eye teeth...looks super funny. He loves to chew on shoes, tags, and cords so we have to keep a good eye on him. He smiles all the time. Still a bad sleeper....all my kids are terrible sleepers, even if we do follow the books. I am going to have to do the tough love thing with him soon and just let him cry it out. Worst thing ever for me to do. i absolutely hate to let my babies cry. He is always hungry. A true Sorensen boy. I don't have his stats, but it is so close to his 7 mths already I will just let you know them then. He is big. Biggest baby I have had at this age. Adalie and Cason were always a few months behind in the clothing dept, but Brody is right on track.....mostly in 9 mth things even. He is such a fun baby and adores his brother and sister. And they him. We still love you lots and lots bubby. Happy Half Year!!
its that time of year again....
the time when words like football have a deeper meaning
when Sundays become filled with stadium screams
when blood turns orange
when Brett's mood depends on winning or losing
when Brett gets antsy
when we buy the nfl package
when brett thinks he knows how to ref
when the kids don't get Disney channel
when we argue with the tv
when the kids can get away with anything because attentions are focused elsewhere
when espn is almost scripture
when brett specifically asks off work
when the dvr goes crazywhen, brett wears his broncos hat 24/7
when kids are often awakened by hooting and hollerin
 when super bowl dreams begin
when Payton Manning becomes an idol
when the NFL becomes our second language
when brett does a lot of fist pumpin'
when Sundays are daddy's days
when brett loves our big screen the most
when everyone becomes the worlds greatest coach thanks to fantasy football
when i get ignored often =)

It's NFL Football season and we have Payton Manning. Payton freakin' Manning. Brett is like a little kid at Christmas pretty much all season long. He even got himself a new hat. I am pretty sure he would wear it to clinic if they would let him and would sleep in it if he didn't squirm around so much in his sleep and was worried about bending it. It's a special time of year. Brett has gotten to the point where he just loves a good game, doesn't even matter who is playing who. It seems to get worse every year - add payton manning to that and he is sure to have a heart attack. Happy NFL season people. Oh, and Let's Go Denver Broncos!!
