Helping Hands...

Adalie helping mommy scrapbook....thanks honey.

I have had a couple of days off from work and I forget that I get spoiled when that happens. Laying around the house, shopping, scrapbooking.....lots of things to do and I definitely enjoy NOT working sometimes. Brett and I both had yesterday off and went to see the new Batman movie...AWESOME!!! I can see why Haeth Ledger might have gone a little crazy.....he was definitely a kookoo joker. I recommend it, but it is a little on the creepy side for kids, I would even say on the verge of scary. Anywho go see it, if you are a christian belle fan and like Batman series, you will love it!!

It's My Party!!

Adalie's first birthday was a success! It came, and it went, and we don't have to worry about stressing over another for at least a year. Of course we tried to go with a Princess theme for a little girl.

It was a good day and Adalie had no idea what was going on. She had fun with all of her little cousins running around and she loved the tiara...I am actually really surprised that she kept it on so well. She got lots of fun stuff and loved all the attention she was getting.

Her Grandma and Grandpa got her the cute little ruffly dress she wore at her party and I made the cakes.

One was supposed to look like a castle and the other just had AM on it for Adlaie Marie. We made her a cake for her to dig her face into, but she really didn't get all that messy from it, she just liked to smoosh it through her fingers.

It was a fun experience and I still can't believe time has flown by so fast....a year just came an went didn't it?

Another Day!

I forget how special the Temple can be....and how much I love it every time we get the chance to go. Brett, my mom. and I got to go to my cousin Jeremy's wedding on Thursday and decided to go early to do some temple work. It was so wonderful and then the ceiling just topped things off. It was such a great day and I was sad I forgot my camera. It was the first time Brett and I had gotten to go back and do work in the Temple we got married in a little over two years ago. It was all around a really good day.
Today though, is Adalie's birthday. I can't believe she is already one!! I feel like time has flown by so fast, and she is getting so big. I wish I had some pictures to post of her as a newborn to compare now, but we just have the laptop here and all of her pictures are on our desktop.
She was born at 2:30 in the afternoon after 7 hours of labor. 5 pounds 8 ounces and 17 1/2 inches long. Now, a year old and 23 pounds and still not very tall....haha, but of course look at her mom and dad, she doesn't have a very good chance of being that tall anyway. I really can't think of much else to say other than how much we love her and that she has been the best surprise of our lives thus far...
Happy Birthday Adalie Marie

These are all the poses that Adalie had taken. We didn't order all of them and it is amazing to me that just because they are black and white it would cost $50. She was such a grump that day, but at least we got a few cute ones in there.

Random Lydia Thoughts

Things I never thought about until I was a Parent....
  1. Bowel Moments. Sometimes our conversations consist of "Did she poop today??" or "What did it look like?" Kind of an embarrassing subject, but it is funny that we worry about it when it comes to our kids.
  2. Healthy meals. No more quick cheeseburger trips at midnight and babies living off of French fries and milk.
  3. Schedules. I never thought I would spend so much time on what I would do all in one day. Living on a whim is definitely a habit of the past.
  4. Nap Times. Never new how important they were until I had a baby of my own! I LOVE naps!
  5. Hygiene. Not that I didn't think so much about it before, but I never had to plan on a specific time or how long it would take. It is funny to think when I am going to take my next shower and what am I going to do with a baby during....a monitor in the bathroom has become a good solution.
  6. Loose Change. Is very edible. Everything has become edible as a matter of fact
  7. Whispering. Don't wake the baby!! Seriously...I will kill you if she wakes up.
  8. Reading. When is the last time I read a real book..you know the kind that don't pop up or teach me about colors? I know those real well...and my abc's...
  9. Babysitters. I am so glad I have family close for now...
  10. Vacations. What kind of vacation do you take a one year old on? I personally think it is a nice break for mommy and daddy for now. Until she can remember where she has been, we will thnk about taking one with her.
  11. Shopping carts. I love stores that have them, despise those that don't.
Oh there is so much more but these were a few that just popped into my mind today.
Also, not a day goes by that I don't wish I had a million dollars, a new car, and a hot body. But hey, I do have some dollars, a car, and a husband that likes the way I look. =)
