I Love To See the Temple

On Thursday, Brett took us to Kansas City to the Temple open house. It's not every day we are close enough to go to a temple open house and we thought it was a great thing for the kids to be able to experience.

The adventure began and 2 hours in, Cason vomited in the car. We made it through the temple without Cason or Adalie ruining anything. I was worried the whole time that maybe Cason had snuck in a crayon and I could just see the damage in my head he could do to those beautiful walls. He was so lethargic and had such a high fever by the time we got out though, and I am sure that helped his almost "reverent" mood.  Adalie's favorite parts were the mirrors of course. In the ceiling room (were a bride and groom are married) there are two huge mirrors facing each other which makes your reflections go on forever. A prefect way to symbolize an eternal marriage with your spouse and your posterity that will go on forever and ever. After our tour, we went out to eat at the good ole' OG (olive garden) were we couldn't get Cason to eat a single bite of anything. We were going to try and tough it through to the visitors center and liberty jail and such, but Cason's fever got worse and all he wanted to do was sleep. Adalie scraped up her legs pretty bad do to a fall in the parking lot. We had to stop and get some medicine for the kids and we were all exhausted and just headed home. A 3 hour drive there for a 2 hour outing and then 3 hours to get home.

It was a wonderful trip though despite not sounding as such. Any excuse to escape the world for a moment with my amazing family is worth anything. Vomit, fever, bloody knees, and all.Even if we didn't get a good picture out of it either...

we were there. The whole family =)

You have a beautiful family Lydia! That trip sounds exhausting. Me and vomit do not mix-especially on road trips :) The time in the temple sounds wonderful though.
