Well, it looks like Brett pulled off an A in his first two classes here at DMU. Woo Hoo! Good going honey. So far, medical school has treated us well and I really can't complain to much. It isn't as bad as I thought so far (keeping my fingers crossed) I usually get Brett home at 5 and free (for the most part) all night. Sometimes, I even get to have him home at 3 which is a real treat!! It has been really nice to just focus on school for once and no work. Kind of a different change of pace that is very welcomed.
I have been struck with a cold. I hope it is just a cold. If it is the flu, I am never getting a flu vaccine again. I seem to get it every year even though I get vaccinated for it. Bummer. Worse thing I hate about it besides not being able to breath out of my nose? By about 2 in the afternoon I am done, but I have to convince myself to keep going and pretend like I care about things like dinner or laundry....which I didn't at all today. We ate take out and wore dirty clothes.
Cason is a biter. He bites everything and everyone...I have the marks on my stomach and shoulder to prove it. How do you teach an 8 mth old biting is bad?? I have resulted to flicking him on the chin...is that bad??? Hopefully he learns soon. I don't want to be the mom in nursery that everyone hates because their kid goes around leaving bite marks.
Adalie is getting way excited for Halloween. Des Moines really knows how to do Halloween. There is some kind of party going on just about every night. They don't do trick or treating on the 31st around here though. They have beggars night on the 30 where the kids go out trick or treating. the 31st seems to be the "adult" day where everyone gets drunk. Another weird thing, kids supposedly have to tell a joke or do a trick in order to get their candy. Adalie is good at telling knock knock jokes....but they never get past the who's there part of it? She totally misses the punch line every time. Adalie's knock knock joke goes something like this:
A: Knock Knock
Me: Who's there?
A: Banana Pants Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!
She never gives me time to say Banana pants who...I have tried to explain to her how a knock knock joke goes about a million times but she still doesn't get it. It is quite frustrating.

Blanket Babies
Did you have a favorite blanket when you were a kid?? I hear that most do. I however did not. I didn't even have my own bed until I was like 7 or 8. I just slept with whatever sister would let me in their beds or on my mom and dad's floor. Sounds sad but I liked it.....I never had to make a bed until I was like 10. Kind of nice. Well both of my kids seem to be huge blanket fans. Adalie since she was about 1 with her purple monkey blanket that she calls her "blue blanket". She calls it that because I it was the first color she learned and one of her first words so she has called it that since she could speak. Now Cason has his own too. He has been stealing Adalie's lately so I pulled out a blanket I had bought before he was born that I was planning on giving him when he got a little older, but decided to give it a go now. He has a few little baby blankets but this is one of those twin size fleece ones. Ya, he loves that thing. It is soft like sister's but a little more manly in color. Cason's IS blue. And he sleeps a ton better. Longer naps and quieter nights for the most part. It has been nice.

Design
So this is my first time to use the design button for my background. Ok, hello a lot more complicated than i thought!! How do i use this thing so I can get a blog online (like from cutest blog) and make it my background? What do I set it on for the default background before I paste something in? Anyone understand my blogging language? haha
Mean Mommy
I need help with my frustration! I am so hot tempered and quick to jump to a bad mood. Sometimes it just seems easier to get mad than to walk away for 30 seconds and cool off. Especially with my kiddos. My first reaction is to scream which I feel like I am doing more often than not lately. And it always makes me feel horrible. And then I justify well I already screamed at them once it won't hurt to just get it all out today and then start again tomorrow with good mommy techniques. Isn't that terrible? Right now I am blaming it on my Merana.
So what do you do to calm down? How do you give yourself breaks from little ones? How do you not scream at them when they do not so wanted things or destroy things? Advice greatly appreciated, but no one better say I am a bad mommy =) Haha

Here's To You BlueJeans
You were the best pair of jeans a girl like me could ever ask for and today I feel your loss. As my butt sags and my belly extends, I dream of the days that you used to hold it all in. My muffin top wasn't there...because of you. You were so good to me. We made it four years together, and even through 2 pregnancies. All I had to do was use a rubber band and you would pull your weight....well mine rather. But now I fear I must say goodbye. The material has become to thin. The wholes to great. And the bottoms to shredded. But just remember how much I really loved you...Your flare legs, your white washed color, and cute copper buttons. I remember the day I found you. It's like you called out to me from that lonely rack filled with all of those impostures. You knew me and knew what I needed. It was one of those rare relationships in life where it was just meant to be. I can never really replace you and I will absolutely hate finding a replacement. Jean shopping is not something a girl takes lightly and I am sure it will take me months to find a pair that I loved as much as you.
So, I raise my glass, to you. Here is to you Blue Jeans. Thanks you for loving my body...I will never forget you.

Dear Cason
Dear, sweet Cason,
I am not going to pretend that your dad and I enjoy your sleeping schedule as of late. Short cat naps during the day and 3 hour spurts at night just aren't cutting it. What happened? You give us a week of good and then a week of bad. This week is bad. You used to be such a great little sleeper now you make me cranky and irritable because your lack of sleep means my lack of sleep. Go. To. Sleep. When I tell you. How I tell you. How long I tell you. M-k? Is it to much to ask from an 8 mth old?
Thanks, Love you (but not so much at 5 am),
Mom
p.s. stop waking up at 6:30 in the stinkin morning
