5 yrs

Yesterday was Brett and mines 5 yr anniversary. Hard to believe it has been five yrs. Blame it on my horrible memory, but I honestly don't remember too many moments without Brett in it. And the moments I do remember I seemed to have replaced them with Brett which sometimes causes interesting conversations betwixt the two of us....lots of "honey that wasn't me" stuff.

Usually we are able to sneak away for a few days because there has been family around for the kiddos to stay with, but this year since it is just the two of us alone here in IA, we snuck away for a few hours for a date. Brett took us to Red Lobster. This is kind of a new thing for us considering we are both not so keen on seafood. However, we have fallen in love with their Lobster Pizza and we shared a main course of soup, salad, and Cajun Parmesan chicken, which was absolutely delicious! We even finished with a sweet brownie treat at the end. Everything was quite filling and scrumptious!












Then we headed off to play some mini golf =) Haven't done it for yrs and it was way fun. Not your ordinary mini golf though. We took the retro route and went black-light, indoor mini golfing. AC friendly and we were the only ones in there which was fun. We got to sneak and make out in the corners like teenagers =) And you can also see our level or maturity by the pictures I took....We had a bet going on the game. Whoever won didn't have to change a diaper on Sunday and also got to sleep in that day. =) Turns out we tied, so we came to the agreement of one of us getting to do one or the other...Brett is sleeping in and I am diaper free for the day right hun??

It was a wonderful night out with my best friend in the whole world. I really do feel quite lucky with the man I roped into marrying me 5 yrs ago. It has been great, and continues to get better with age. Just like cheese i suppose. Or wine I guess. but since we don't drink, Ill use the stinky cheese thing.... haha. We dated for a few hours, got married in a few minutes, and got pregnant a few seconds after that! Not really the actual timeline of things (may be to some), but seems like it looking back on it all. My life has been the perfect little romantic comedy, and I love it. I really can't think of a second i haven't enjoyed. I love you so much Brett and you know it. You're my best friend. My confidant. My teddy bear. My lifesaver. My funny bone. My sweetheart. My heart. My all....every moment is better than the last as long as your in it with me babe. I am so grateful for you and that I get to spend eternity by your side growing, laughing, and loving together. Forever and always my love! Love me the same. I know you do. Thank you.
