Today while shopping at our local wallyworld, we told Adalie she could pick out a treat. We told her this at the exact time we were walking down the alcoholic beverage isle towards the bottled water. Daddy said "You can pick out anything you want....but not down this isle (in reference to her picking out alcohol)" She started freaking out because she wanted something on THAT isle and it wasn't fair that she couldn't have anything there. I said, "This is for big people and it is bad for little girls and boys" I said that because there was a man beside me picking out a 12 pack and I didn't want to offend him by saying, "We don't drink that because it is bad" and I could only imagine what she might have said to him about what he was getting....She comes back with, sobbing "But I AM a big girl!!" With the gentleman gone with the alcohol, daddy steps in to say, "Adalie, Heavenly Father doesn't want us to drink that kind of stuff because it is bad for our bodies. I am not saying you can't have a treat, we will go find the treat isle so you can pick something out." Adalie "Oh, ok." Hopefuly she will always pick a cupcake over alcohol.
Also, did I ever tell you about her eating a coffee bean while at Wal Mart? You know how they have those self grinding, pick out your own blend stuff down the bread isle? Well, someone had spilled some on one of the shelves that was in Adalie's reach. I didn't see it happen, but She puts one in her mouth thinking it was chocolate, next think I know she is spitting up on the floor and her breath is horrid. "What did you put in your mouth?!?!" "Some chocolate" "Show me where you got it" She calmly walks over to the coffee beans "That! I think it is old chocolate because it taste really bad. Why would someone want to give that to kids??"

you should intentionally plant coffee beans in your chocolate stash... that will ensure a healthy child as well as more chocolate for you!!! when she comes home with all of that halloween candy, remind her how bad that yucky chocolate in the store tasted and tell her it'd probably be best if she just gave all of her chocolate to you this year...
ps- what a righteous husband you have. i sure miss you guys.
Sounds like a fun trip to wal-mart :) Lately when I go shopping my boys point at everything they pass and say "I want that! I want that! I want that!" Not sure why they do it because I seldom buy them anything :)
