The After Party

Clean up that is! When we got home on Saturday it looked like a hurricane had hit out house. Presents everywhere, dirty clothes, trash out the wazoo, and shopping bags all over. We had just unpacked the car and threw everything into the living room and it looked disastrous!! Especially in our very little living room. I had Brett leave it all out because I thought it was a good way for me just to sit and start my "after Christmas organizing". Although the tree is still up and won't be coming down until after New Year so like I said, it is just a start but still felt good to get some stuff cleaned up. I went shopping Saturday morning to get a lot of clearance stuff for next years Christmas and had lots of success there. We are good on wrapping paper, boxes, and Christmas decor for cheap next year! Woo hoo! I even found a few presents and stocking stuffers for Adalie next year to. All in all I walked away only spending $35 so it was nice to get a good deal...I love good deals.

Brett had to hop back into the routine of work Saturday and was gone just as soon as we had gotten back from his sister's into reality's playground. That was another sad thing about staying in Utah....Brett was looking forward to having some time off but got pulled into work again. Don't feel too bad for him though. After all he gets to work at the MTC, speaking the Hungarian language that he loves and making time and a half the whole school break. And work days are only 3 sometimes 5 hrs so its not too bad. But I still feel bad that he had to jump right back into it the day after Christmas. And we always miss him when he is at work.

We both had to speak today in church. I got scared when I got there and realized we were the only two speakers on the program! Ah! Our sacrament ends at 12:20 and they were ready for us at the podium at 11:25. I stretched out all my readings and managed to take up almost 20 mins, the Young Women did a special musical number, and Brett saved us in the end by taking up the rest of the time. He did really really well, he is just a great speaker and I don't think he gets as nervous as me since he is a teacher and stands in front of a class talking anyways. I won't lie, I am glad it is over. I would much rather do a special musical number any day that's over in 2 mins as opposed to speaking for 10 to 15 or in this case 20 mins!!

And here is some more fun pictures from Christmas of Adalie enjoying her scooter and sledding with mom and dad.

Poor thing, Brett let her go down by herself, which she was way excited about and laughing all the way down but when she got to the bottom the sled turned sideways and she face planted it into the snow.

I was to big, pregnant, and slow to catch her and I didn't get any after shots of the effect. She was so upset and wanted to go home after that and we had only been there about 5 mins. haha

I love her little face right before disaster happened at the bottom. She started out so excited!
