Merry Christmas 2009

Warning, Long Post and lots of Pictures Ahead! Looks like we were good enough for Santa to visit us this year and it was so much fun. The kids woke up at 7, but not Adalie haha. If you wake her up to early she can be quite the grump, especially if she goes to bed late which she did on Christmas eve...around 10:30. Normally she is asleep by 8:30 or 9 so trying to wake her up at 7 was an ordeal...even with the temptation of Santa Clause.

At first she was a little confused but heard the other kids in the living room and got more excited. When she walked in she saw her scooter and her Bike riding Barbie set out for her along with her stocking and looked a little shocked.
It took a few minutes for her to rummage through her stocking and then she hopped on the scooter to try it out. I was surprised! I didn't think 3 mls an hr was that fast but she took off there at first haha.
She has her own little Vespa. Don't worry though, it was cheap! Black Friday sale...totally worth$39! Still amazed at the price...
After that the kids went up stairs and started to get all the presents from under the tree and put them in a big pile down where we were in the basement. We all took turns opening gifts, youngest to oldest and had lots of fun seeing what everyone got for Christmas. Adalie had a little break down in the middle of it all when we tried to change her diaper...I think she was just so tired. So we let her cry off in the corner a little while until she got over it while we finished opening our presents. She soon missed the fun and came back to open more of hers and was excited to play with some new toys.
She got some Barbies, cookware for her kitchen, play makeup, a My little Pony baby doll, a scooter, and a fun little learning lap top from Grandma and Grandpa to help learn her letters. And lots of candy and chocolate of course.
Oh, and the tradition of cheese in our stockings was still strong this year although a little modified from the blocked cheese. Adalie got string cheese, Brett got his Babel cheese, and I got my favorite mini-moos. Delicious!
Brett got some great things and says he is really happy with all his presents, including a new pillow (because his old one was pretty nasty and lumpy and I finally found one he likes) and the Madden Wii game which I might already be rethinking...he likes it to much and has been playing lots already haha.

My Christmas was great! I got perfume, jewelry - including a new gorgeous watch which was desperately needed, a big scrapbook for more pictures, a back messager (wonderful), beautiful boots, and some couch covers which I was really excited about but have to exchange because they are too big. And Brett got me a beautiful painting I wanted!
All in all though, it was such a wonderful Christmas and everyone was happy and most importantly, together. We even went to see Avatar later that day. Really long movie, almost three hours but Brett and I both liked it. Adalie even enjoyed herself and was really great during the whole thing. She fell asleep for about 45 mins of it but watched all the rest and I think she was very intrigued. I would call Christmas a success. We are all happy, safe, and have so much in our lives together. Hope yours was too! Now what do Brett and I get to do? Write talks for church tomorrow... Bishop found out we were staying and pulled us in haha. I think church will be sparse tomorrow anyways, but I know what I will be up late doing tonight. I know, I know - I should've started already but I was busy thinking about the holidays and I just wanted to relax. I'll let you know how it goes. Should be fun.

What a fun Christmas!
I am so glad you were with family even if you were still in UT.
